I did not know that US Marine Boot Camp did not allow cell phones with internet access (sounds like a cult). That sucks. maybe you can smuggle in a watch, some tin foil and a Pringles can and 'Mcgyver' together a rudimentary communicator that can pick up WiFi. Good luck with that.

I know the Army shut down those bloggers in their ranks but I did not know they cut off all internet access.

. /me sneaks online before heading out to life The Army is considerably more lax than the Marines, though. I'm not just saying that due to branch loyalty, or anything like that, either, they really are. Army basic has lessened the strain, in an effort to get more people through, and eliminate drop-outs. I wouldn't be surprised if they also allowed cell phones occasionally, or similar. Marines, though... it's all about training, constantly. Any distraction is an unwanted addition, so... nothing! Anywho, bye all! Have fun! Blahblahblah!

ok it's been awhile, but last I knew you weren't supposed to bring anything but living necessities to any boot camp, and they provided the phone for the occasional (and limited opportunity ) ability to call home... but then a lot can change in... well, it's been awhile. just remember, what marine stands for (My Ass Rides In Navy Equipment) teasing, but you'd better get used to those jokes, because they're rampant.
