Does anyone here know ironperth? I am trying to contact him about some errors with 2 games I just bought and have not heard anything back.

I am not putting this message here to dis or complain or anything like that. I am worried about him, as I have dealt with him before and he was quick to reply previously.

Or do any of you have the bumpertag game of his and the duckshoot?
I just bought them and they are both giving me script errors.

I am not sure what to do so was hoping someone here would either have the answer, or know ironperth and let him know I sent him notecards and also posted to his forums concerning the problems.

the bumpertag gives me an error concerning a texture, and the duckshoot gives an error about some kind of item, and it is not rezzing the duck background part.

thanks in advance for any help or advice.

( I bought these over the weekend and as I said he has always been quick to reply in other situations)

Rha, people do take time off to live in the real world. Give him some time to respond.

I am not going to take it personally since you cannot hear me. I know you are not stupid. I am not saying anything of the sort, just trying to reassure that there is no cause for alarm just yet.

Andy Enfield from HippoTech apparently went to Tibet for a while. I didn't know, only heard afterward that he did. I wouldn't wig out just yet - it doesn't warrant bumping and bumping and bumping, however.

bumping bumping bumping?????

I bumped it once then replied to the thread...

I did take your comment personally because it implied I was not aware that people have real lives...

how long do you think one should wait when one has a problem with a product?
(as stated I am worried that he is ok, as I have dealt with him before and he was fast, as in a few hours fast, to reply)

my post here was in hopes that someone knows him and could either let him know (cuz im's do get capped, and notecards do get lost) that someone is trying to contact him, or in hopes he sees it himself

this was not a post of panic, nor was it a place where I asked to be reminded that people have real lives.

I am well aware of that, as I too have a "real life" that does pull me away from SL.
However if I am gonna be away any length of time, especially with having a business in SL, I would put something in my profile that I am away until such and such time. (otherwise, it would be like it was for me a year ago when I was suddenly away from SL, for a week while I was in the hospital) and even then I had my husband contact those who were close friends to let them know what was happening (did not have a SL business then)

being there is nothing in his profile to give one the impression it might be a planned absence, then I think he would at least check for customer requests at least once a day

which leaves me to believe he either did not get the notecards, or the im;s or the other forum messages, thus wondering if he is ok.

Now if you do not know him, or do not have a suggestion of how to contact him, please do not come here and decide to flame me

I am not having a good day, I feel like crap, I am concerned about someone I do not even know, and I am going to go crawl back in bed, I do not need comments that make me feel as though I am being attacked for asking is anyone knew someone else.

*sigh*

sorry for the rambling....

It is normal in SL to have customer service requests handled with 24 - 48 hours. It is unrealistic to expect that someone is monitoring their messages 24/7. People work, many have jobs where their internet use is monitored and they would rather not have an IT department knowing what they do outside of work.

If you don't hear back in 48 hours, then get antsy.

Actually, I too sent him a notecard and IM's a week ago concerning one of his products as well, and am yet to hear anything back. I too know that RL can command your attention, it's just a tad frustrating when you can't use something until you speak with the creator, but have no idea when to expect a reply.

just curious which product you are having problems with.

I am wondering if SL has broken things again.

not like ironperth to put out products that would not work.

(been 3 days for me)

It's not that it's not working, I just wish there was a user guide, apart from the YouTube tutorials (I have the Builder's Studio). The forum hasn't helped much either. It's handy having the tutes, but when you can't get something to work, documentation would be handy so you know you're doing everything correctly.

I've had some quick responses from Iron, and some really slow responses, and even some non-responses. About the only option is to keep trying to send him notecards and hope he gets back to you. I've even had a really hard time getting a response when I was trying to let him know that the game demos he has set up at his place were broken. I was interested in getting another one, but now I no longer care. Good luck, and I hope you get through.

Perhaps the recent updates caused the scripts to no longer work.

I have been to that store many times and have seen those games there and I agree he is a very good games designer so I don't understand why they aren't working.

same here do not understand why they are not working

the duckshoot is supposed to rez the back part of it (where the ducks are at) and when I put the item I got when I purchased and do the command to rez the other part, nothing happens and I get an error about it could not find such and such item

the bumpercars is not as big of an issue as it is just saying it can not find a texture (or at least I think it is not as big of an issue)

the thing is though I needed these for the carnival area of the city (took someone;s advice on that carnival thing, made some rides, and bought the 2 items from ironperth)

but the duckshoot the one I liked most, will not work :(

oh and if anyone is reading this, and knows how to script, I am looking for someone to help with scripting a ferriswheel

I have found one on slex that works the way I want mine to but it is much too big and too costly.

so if you know how to script and want to help me out please get in touch with me
(willing to pay within reason)
