I suspect she'll probably just back Harry's decision. There are days when I feel it's already too late.
Was Harry already involved? I thought he was on vacation or something. And not that it matters, but doesn't Harry report to Jack now?

I was referring to the decision Rhian Svenska got.

Oh. :o Yes, I guess Harry would be "the G-Team leader." It's just now sinking in to me how profoundly weird it is that he should also be "the same person who returned the vendor in the first place."

what I do not get is why make a "doll" version or a panty version of a child skin

There are apparently a lot of people who are just as embarassed if someone sees their avatar's private parts as they would be if someone saw their RL private parts. Personally, I don't feel that way myself, but I can kindasorta understand what's going on there. Mix that with SL's notorious issues where prim clothes don't rez correctly on teleport, or maybe you were standing in your bedroom, crashed out and when you logged back in your sim was down and then you wind up in some welcome area. And then there's the times when one accidentally hits "remove all" instead of what you wanted to remove....or just plain forgets to put on undies and you only find out when somebody who's been camming under skirts makes a lewd comment. So IMO there's good reasons why someone would want such a thing. Not that it matters why they want it....a good merchant responds to market demands. :)

Another good reason to produce a doll type skin was something I didn't learn until later after a good number of my customers indicated that they used my Hayley shape and skin to depict a boy. Since the skin is shaded for a pre-thelarche girl and the shape matches that, a simple change of hairstyle and wardrobe accomplishes that quite nicely....as long as the crotch area is blank and doesn't force the issue.

Same reason as why you'd make an adult "ken and barbie" skin.
Um, yes?

but I don't and would not make a "doll" skin for adults
(by doll I am guessing that they mean no details down there)

Nobody's asking you to. :)

You asked why someone would want a "doll" skin for kids. I'm just sayin', you know, they already have 'em for adults. ^^

your first comment lead me to believe that you were under the impression that I made adult skins in the "doll" style.

sorry about that, did not realize the "you'd" in that post was a general "you".. and not a specific to me "you"

that was why my reply was that I do not and would not create skins like that

now that I understand the comment, I guess what you mean is... for those who make those skins, they do it because there is a demand (small or large doesn't matter) for it.

which is why they would make them, be it adult or child...

(am I correct now in understanding your post?)

I'd guess that the real life legal risk is too severe to even chance it...that's why.

(I'm staying away from the moral angle for this thread, as someone may misinterpret that to mean I think THEY are misusing child avies. Thing is, some out there, try to.)

They can't really stop child avies from existing but sounds like they are discouraging sales, at least while wearing less than swimsuits. A game pales beside the reality of what some out there would misuse it as.

"Broadly Offensive" is of course when it's offensive to the majority of citizens and not when it's offensive on a whim of the few.

There can be valid reasons for child-size avvies: Take the not so hyperthetical question in my personal experience of a woman who can't have children in RL and doesn't want to adopt or cannot adopt in RL. Then the act of becoming pregnant in SL becomes something rather special. The baby is born in one of the SL maternity facilities, the baby is taken home and lovingly cared for. Then a la soap opera, the baby becomes 8 years old courtesy of one of the fast disappearing SL adoption services. The child size avvie performs all of the functions of a son or daughter and is lovingly cared for by SL parents as they would in RL.

Right there is a valid reason for a child-size avvie which is being rather quickly eroded. By all means punish the offenders to the full extent that the law provides. But leave the innocent alone.

For some of us Second Life is true to its name, a Second LIFE.
