Hi /me smiles and waves This is my first question so be gentle! LOL (I have lurked for a while but rarely post) Anyway my question is about the Forum Cartel. I joined the group and was wondering when the best time is to go the hangout and meet everyone? Does the group have events as well?? And what is up with Brenda's panites?? Thanks in advance!

Hi Cin, and welcome! The hangout is just that, a place where people come and go at all hours of the day and night. Sometimes it's empty and sometimes you'll find a lot of people milling around. At times, the conversations can get pretty amusing, other times, it's rather mundane. Just like you'd expect from any group of friends. We do have events somewhat regularly. It seems most Fridays we have Syd come by and spin tunes in the afternoon. Halloween was a particularly wonderful party. I haven't been a member for more than a few months myself, so I can't tell you much more than that, but I know there has been many more parties and outings and such. Once you are a member, notices will be sent out and will pop up when you log on to let you know when they are happening. So, stop in, take a chance when the mood hits and introduce yourself. Don't be shy. All of us were new once too

Hi Cin, Speaking as a newbie member of the group here . Don´t know about the events stuff, though I know there´s parties, DJ evenings, and shopping trips and such. I´ve been to the hangout a few times now and it wasn´t too scary. However, I tend to check on the map whether there is anyone there before bombing over, because I tend to get lost between the garden and the bar for instance and then I need a TP to get back Which reminds me to get a new landmark next time so I don´t arrive in the water again.

Sally, next time you properly landmark the hangout, you can rename it something like "Forum Hangout Dance Floor - Not the Middle of the Ocean"

Hi Cin Welcome I'm a fairly new member myself, not sure about the events n such. I've been to the hangout anytime between 1pm and 4pm SLT this week and mostly people have been there. Not sure about any later as thats waay past my bedtime lol. I'm intrigue by the panties aswell lol. Think it is probably one of those jokes where there is so much backstory it gets a bit of a nightmare. Sally, I remembered to actually set a landmark last night lol. Before I kept ending up in the garden stood on a bench lol

From: Cin Coage And what is up with Brenda's panites?? NOTHING!!!!!! There is no "best time" at the hangout as it is just a casual place. Just drop by, if no one is there, pop on group IM *Yes we encourage it* and say "Hi I'm here", and probably someone will drop by. We do have occasional events, such as the 12 hour Halloween Gala and the apparently regular Friday with Syd Goff, which take place at 12 Noon SLT on Fridays. I think there is talk of a Festivus Celebration in the coming weeks as well.

Is the Cartel really ready for an annual Airing of Grievences? My mind boggles with the potential nightmare that could come from that (although I'm also chomping at the bit with glee thinking of it). Forget closing of threads; Strife may have to close the party down.

Fesitvus, cool. I'll polish my aluminum pole (ducks as he see the jokes flying in). Fesitvus in SL, hmmm, well the airing of grievences should be entertaining.

Hallo Cin, The Hangout is really nice - a lot of good work has gone into building and landscaping. Visually it is attractive and the atmosphere is nice and friendly. You will meet people from all over the world - from different time zones - so I hope the forthcoming festivities will go round the clock. Hope to meet you there.

Hi Cin,
I'm new to the Forum Hangout too and have found it a great place to ....... Hangout!
I used to get there, find it empty and leave, but then I started to just sit at the bar and listen to the music and eventually somebody turns up, then somebody else and so on.
I've always been too scared to send a message out saying "I'm here" just in case I got a response that said "And ....?" But I'm sure nobody would.
Also, please don't be offended if, for the first three times I meet you I say, "Hi Cin, nice to meet you! Where are you from?" I have an awful memory for names and keep forgetting to add notes. I think so far I have introduced myself to Kitty about 7 times and asked Claire where she's from about a dozen times.
And order a Buffalo Sweat shooter too - lovely.

Sandy (Snady) Only twice Sandy, you're not doing too bad. And I forgot to say it earlier, but Sandy has just said it, wait around if no one is there definitely, someone always turns up eventually.

From: Amaranthim Talon /me wonders who one asks? Ask Brenda or Chris. They'll send one out when they get online. I've found it to be a good place to sort inventory, work through IM's, etc. when it's empty. Someone usually shows up to rescue me from whatever boring task I've assigned myself. Actually had a lot of fun sorting through clothing one day when someone showed up and a game of "Find the ugliest freebie pants in the world" broke out. I won with some sort of heavily embroidered leather capri pants. WTF was someone thinking when they created those!? Anyway - show up whenever. Explore the build a little - there are fun things to do there. Rez a surfboard and go explore the Linden water, listen to music, etc. someone will be along soon.

Bet I could give you a run for your money. Whenever I see someone says 'pants' it makes me laugh, i always thought of pants as in knickers, pants were always called trousers lol.
