Tonight I've enjoyed the bar fight I got myself into in another thread (the one that won't die).

Cheers!
Not SL.

PS Thanks for posting there - you have done me a favour by making me look reasonable by comparison

So, what do you like to do in SL that cheers you up?

Watching that bar get to the right-hand side of the screen at login and not get told I'm at a different sim or my clothes are still downloading.

Serious! that is like a happy pill for me. I could rant on about exploring, flying (hitting 'stop flying' and watch me splat and dust myself off is fun), riding MY Harley, seeing a familiar name appear on the hangout HUD (and being able to teleport there!) and anything upon anything when fiancee logs in. Oh .. oh .. I did, didn't I?

building 100 prim object, linking.. making physical... unlinking ...finding all the pieces....

Grade School stuff :p

Repeat above at 4000 meters! Actually that was flying a house up there and hitting the ceiling at 4096 and the house exploding, in Havok 1 on top of that. I was still receiving pieces back a year later.

There was a laser tag maze my partner and I used to go to that we loved. Really helped work the ya-ya's out of me to be able to run around "killing" each other. Especially when we usually obtained "Assured Mutual Destruction" - translation: killed each other at the same time...that was too funny.

Now that place is gone and we haven't found another one. :(

~ ~ ~

We also used to go to a shooting range that had a safe zone for non-participants (or to get ready to enter the combat zone.) Last time we were there it had changed and one landed right in the combat area. There was some sniper we could see on our Mysti but didn't have time to find and shoot at before he got us.

After a couple of trips home via the sniper, my partner decided he'd had enough, and managed to ummmm...use one of the Mysti's features before the sniper got him.

That was big time fun!

Well dang...now I want to go play EQ. lol

Being in a club where a smallish crowd of people are actually having genuine fun and cracking jokes, the DJ is joining in and (OMG) they are all *talking to each other*!!!!11! and being welcoming to anyone they don't know. Did that recently and had such a laugh, it was very refreshing.

Horse riding along some scenic route - must do more of it.

Sorting out a few more folders in inventory and dumping stuff is something I've been finding remarkably therapeutic!

I've also noticed sailing being mentioned here a lot recently. I've been meaning to have a go so I think a small boat must go down on list of things to get.

Edit to add: Playing En Garde, the fencing game. That's a lot of fun and more tactical than at first appears.

I like flying one of my biplanes. I still get nostalgic when I bring out my freebie red biplane, even though I have several nicer ones now. Pretty much any aircraft makes me happy.

Finding a good club and dancing with friends is also a lot of fun

Trout, you're back! *hugs*

Two words: Fire arrows.

Exploring, mooching freebies from lucky chairs, actually seeing what some of my mooched freebies are, taking pictures of people, places & things in SL.

Bouncing around on the top of a land ban zone is usually good for a chuckle.
Bampolines!

I built a diving board next to one neighbor whose ban zones were particularly annoying... I had to put up a wall to keep from hitting it on a sim crossing.

One thing I used to do was fly around in Jillian Callahan's skitter... it looks more like a UFO than most of the "UFO" planes... and land next to people and ask them "take me to your leader".

Or sometimes, "take me to your lizard".

Believe it or not, sorting my Inventory cheers me up. When I'm done, I feel like my "space" is all clean and proper, and ready for anything.

Walking the Mainland, seeing how many new things I can see. I especially like walking down the SL Railroad tracks to see what new places have sprung up alongside the tracks. Since both the shop and my house are on the Heterocera continent, and within walking distance (well, okay, like 20 sims apart) it's fun to note changes between them.

Oryx your hired!!

I also just found some small land on the SLRR=) I'm having a blast trying to make a train. I am trackside in Foxglove.

Hmm. If we are talking about relaxing places.... Personally I like a place called The Cloud Chateau. If you haven't seen it, its sooo a must see!

One more thing...

Random acts of silliness. Chicken runs. Avatar stacking. Dumb gestures. Can't really plan 'em, but when they happen -- they're gold.

SL sailing is a new pastime for me, and I absolutely love it.

Cristalle, I bought a fairly nice sailboat http://xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=375129) some time ago that for the life of me I can't figure out! If you're ever out with a few minutes to spare, I'd love a tutorial! ;)

Seeing the sights at Neva's always gives me a good laugh. The absolute funniest thing I've witnessed in SL was there one night when 3 very drunken (clothed) smurf avis ran through the place, in voice, singing and generally harrassing the crowd. Classic stuff.

Just put some pictures together and send them to me in a folder or notecard in-world. You can send whatever pictures make you happy and you can send as many as you think I need to get a picture of who you are. The only thing I ask for is more than one, because it's hard to do a good rating off of just one picture. Keep in mind that the actual number is sort of a benchmark so a high one isn't better than a low one. It's just where you fall on the continuum. Everyone is beautiful in there own way, and a person's personality always shines. Some are more slutty than others. That's the only difference.

heh but it makes a cool shuffling sound :)

seriously though, I am still trying to figure out what makes me happy in SL

I have a lot that makes me happy and smile in RL, so do not need SL for that

lol! I am still a noob! And my boats are Trudeau. But the concepts are the same... I recommend going to one of the yacht clubs, they have nice instructors :)

Seeing a cool new build somewhere, or finding a new club or going to a really good event make me happy. Also making something I'm really pleased with gives me a boost. Finding out that some new SL feature works is always exciting too.
Sometimes, though, I just like to let go and dance naked at a beach club!

There is one person who frequents the OIP and HIP area with a DIY flying taxi. She scooms around asking people if they want a ride anywheres else. She gets lots of people happy to jump on and do. And she not a very good driver either as she always seems to accidentally land on top of people she knows =)

Wandering around a sim with a rich ambient noise environment always cheers me up. SL is so overwhelmingly visual it can exhaust that sensory pathway. Some favorites:

Ocean waves at Las Arenas Rosadas and Visit Mexico
Mysterious birds at Chakryn
Wind whistling and snow falling at Cu Mara
Rainstorm and lightning at Templum Ex Obscurum
