From: Ciaran Laval ...Do you get charged for debit card and cheque payments in the States? Certainly not by the payee. Some checking accounts still have a monthly fee, or a per-check fee, but most banks offer "free checking".

We even just had a long thread started by someone who didn't believe in credit cards, complaining there was no way for him to pay... So...LL implements a new way to pay that gets around all these problems... And...there's an immediate outcry about how unfair the fee is, how long it takes, etc. etc. There really is no pleasing us, is there?  Well, I think most of the people who complain about not wanting to enter their CC info into SL aren't going to be the kind of people who're prepared to spend US$125 on it, that's all  |

Well, I have one: in this f***ing country, we have to ask the government permission to do transactions in foreign currency, and the government allows only a certain amount per person per year, and the banks here have to clear with them too because the transaction is in dollars, so.....there's my excuse, I will keep getting $L through PayPal and also my cellular phone, thank you (there's a company that I can send a SMS with a code they give me when I register, they charge me an amount from my cellular phone, and I get 50 $L inworld for every SMS sent)
