Help in my Academic Research Study

The University of Hong Kong's School of Business invites you to participate in a study on Second Life. The purpose of this survey is to investigate the popularity of Second Life and residents' experience. We are also collecting data about general individual characteristics to help us better understand your Second Life experience. Your participation in the study is completely voluntary.

The survey has 6 sections and takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. As a token of gratitude for your participation, we will pay 100 Linden dollars (L$100) to your Second Life account provided to us. By participating in this study, you can have the chance to look at factors which are related to your Second Life experience and help us understand people's Second Life experience in general. Each person can only participate once.

And this be why I haven't done the survey. I felt it was an attempt to scam or hack, because some people would use the same email as the one they used for SL...

yes seriously. It's only 100L - not like it's a big deal, but really, if you promise payment, you ought to make it. Actually, I don't usually take surveys. I just took that one to see if he was seriously paying people. That's why I remember not getting paid.

Its pretty relevant since Payment wants people to take this survey .. in exchange for well .. payment.

So .. for those reading this thread ..

Theres at least a Chance that if you fill this survey out you wont get your money.

Help Wanted is perfectly acceptable for this.. but this one should be removed, period.

Only the gullible take these so called surveys or whatever they wish to call them. Then they complain when they're not compensated as advertised.

Just how much help do you NEED, Payment?

Perhaps the point of the survey is to find out whether people complete surveys, which forum is most likely to generate a response, if not paying some people makes a difference and if so how long it takes for the information to percolate through(I got paid promptly despite not including an email address - which was explained in another thread as only being needed if you wanted notification of payment) or to find out at what point survey fatigue set in in different forums.

I wasn't complaining about not being paid, and I made it pretty clear that the only reason I took the survey was to see if he was actually paying people like he advertised, not because I care about 100L. You can hardly say I was fooled into anything when the whole reason for taking the survey was to test whether or not payment was being made, not to actually receive the payment. Usually people come in here and want us to do their homework for them for free. I wanted to see if he was lying or if he actually intended on making payments. I also never posted in that other thread about not getting paid, so I wasn't complaining. I just noted that he wasn't making the payments he promised. If I cared, I would have made more noise about it. Actually, if I cared about 100L, that would be pretty sad. It's only around 30 cents.

I guess Pep got paid, so it seems like he randomly makes whatever payments he feels like.

I wasn't directing this at you but in general. Actually, I hadn't read your post. I've seen posts in the past where they complain they didn't get paid.
