Hey, I'm looking for any good gay places to visit. This could be clubs, stores, malls, entire sims, or just whatever.

Thanks,

Go to search inworld and type in gay either in the ALL or Places tab. Review the listings and then teleport to the place. Once you have visited a place you can then decide if you think it is a good place or not. Be warned though, Many places with that search term will be sexual in nature.

It's the same with BDSM places too.

I just wanted to chat with some nice BDSM folk about the economy, instead I was gagged and spanked. :(

LOL. Well I did not want the OP to be "accidently" exposed to anything adult. A gay place in SL doesn't necessarily have to have sex.

O RLY?

To the OP:

Try the BOYSTOWN, Warehouse Plaza, Gay World, Jake's Club Resort, or Impulse sims to start off with... and yeah, try the search function too. There's lots around that doesn't necessarily have to do directly with sex.

From what I have seen of SL recently, it's all pretty miserable actually.

in the advertising section... perhaps. although there are several romance themed queer sims, although I tend to see more of an exclusionary principle there (eg women only, men only) and at least two wedding islands that catered specifically... no I don't remember the names of most. there's several landowner co-ops that are queer exclusive too.

as for WHY there's such a heavy emphasis on sex with places billed that way, it's simple. everything else is already covered by non distinguished lands. a mall is a mall is a mall, and doesn't matter alot if your hetero, queer, or whatever... but if you want something that applies to particular combination of couples... the distinction becomes important. (that and the fact that queer folks like me can and have been kicked from places (RL & SL) as not being acceptable to those in charge, and poof: a need to set up friendly spaces. thankfully it's not so bad in SL)

Gay malls? I didn't know that gay people wore different clothes than other people.

That pisses me. I'm very fond of the company of women, being something of a dike-mike, but SL seems to be lacking the right entrepreneur with the appropriate touch to manage such a club, sim or whatever.

"Gagged and Spanked" is what is happening in RL re the economy, where the problems came from and the way it is being handled. Another case of art (SL) imitating Life (RL)?

Experienced, are we? Which gay places do you go to? I know of a few GLB friendly places but really, I have found that just about anywhere is tolerant. But that's not the same when you are trying to find someone special.

Besides the flamboyant attire like skin tight leather pants, tank tops and studded leather, the fact that gay men typically dress better is the foundation for Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

Gay, I wish I could tell you but I took a 3 month from SL and when I returned, some of the best gay club had vanished.

Boys Tpwm, as was mentioned earlier, might be your start.

Try Fabglitter or Beebo's place. a much more mature crowd hang out there and both are very PG (womans only) clubs.

Thanks for the recommendation but I'm not a woman. I don't even run a female av account.

I was thinking along the lines of a successful club that encourages the patronage of gay men and women, which doesn't seem to happen.

It's that why that dizzy program it's still on the air?

Your last paragraph is really comical. Thanks for the laugh, it's been a slow night.

Or it's just possible there's no perceived market for it (or not a big enough one).

Also factor in that a percentage of SL 'lesbians' are straight men in RL anyway.

(ETA: oh I thought from your original post you meant a lesbian club that was straight-men hangers-on friendly. Your 2nd post seems to indicate a club for gay men and women both. I'm sure there is such a place in SL, then again maybe not since people tend to self segregate in RL too.)

To the OP, I dunno...Maybe search groups instead. And then read profile picks of those in the groups. Groups might be more about socialising and talking about books and whatever, clubs will be more to the meat market aspect just like RL. What you want is a virtual coffee house, hangout or book club, right?

It was cancelled some time ago. The cast are doing other things now. Unless you mean in reruns but then what *isn't* still "in syndication."

Try the Twisted Orchid. It's gay, hetero and lesbian (all on about equal numbers) and most other beings and ways too. It's also busy and friendly.

Zim's pretty much right. But, it depends on your timezone... very little happens in the wee small SL hours.

For a list of coming events, I'd also suggest Jordyn's blog http://midcourt.blogspot.com/

I think it's just about management since there are several successful gay sims of both the lesbian and queer varieties but none of the mixed places seem to work at all.

Ephraim Kappler roars laughing: there is that, I guess - despite my opinion that the one thing harder for a man to RP than a woman is a lesbian woman. I think it's fair to argue that women just don't see each other the way men see them and that shows very clearly in the dynamic of any lesbian couples I know, which is a considerable number.

I'm easy since I don't bother limit myself to any particular orientation in-world. It is SL, after all.

I've been there a few times but it seems kind of low on visitors. Very low, in fact, since I was the only one there. Perhaps it was the wrong time of day to visit.

Well I have to agree that mixed anybody welcome places don't work real well, My club has been open almost a year and folks seem to take offence at the fact we let anybody in and ask them to turn off stupid at the door :) lol

Probably wrong time, when I used to go it was often slow from lag cuz of so many people... but I haven't been there for a few weeks.
