yes FD I was in the hospital.
I have a rare blood disorder called ITP which drops my platelets to dangerously low levels (normal levels are 150,000 to 450,000 PPM, mine were at 6,000 ppm when I went to the hospital on tue, and dropped to 3,000 ppm while there) (under 10,000ppm can lead to spontaneous bleeding, brain hemorrhaging, etc) so thankfully I did go to the hospital when I saw the symptoms (should have gone sooner but alas, I dislike going)

they are back to normal now, at least they were on wed (I got out of hospital on sun)
(going in weekly for blood work and see if I am doing ok)

but they have to put me on steroids to bring things back to normal, so now I suffer from the side effects, which this time around are a lot worse than before, but they also have me on a higher dose too

it makes it so hard to concentrate, but I do the best I can

I just managed with some help (thank you Lear) to get the link msg thing to work!

thank you all for the suggestions, I just made a prim in world, made some notecards, labeled them according to what they pertained to and jotted down some thoughts ideas notes etc and dropped them in the prim
(otherwise I would just lose them in my inventory)

This is so frustrating, but I know I will get through it, and better than the alternative

Aw the wonder of steroids especially when one is ill I get the brain racing blues,
either not able to sleep at all or having issues sleeping for any length of time,
At times for some odd reason intensely the door knobs look humpable if no one, nothing else is available if the humpy parts worked or had energy to work, grumpiness and crankiness, yet boost of energy but I get still too dead tired but cranky wired like I have drunken thousands cups of espresso and additionally bonus more nose hairs and in other places then would want.
I started it 16 years for tumors and kept on for hormone replacement after I had
things removed, it is the only thing that seems to keep my white blood cell count from soaring to the ceiling.
Hopefully your body chemistry is effected differently Rha by steroids and your
condition can be treated quickly.
Not exactly familiar with your condition just I know personally if I go off my steriod
treatment my white blood cell count starts to go up and things get worse.
The concentration issue may be caused by the medications and what is going on your first life and health.
It effects my ability to concentrate, think and create.
I get easily overwhelmed and frustrated.
Steroids can be pain in the butt.
I have been on some form of last 16 years except for few years where I was refusing to take them until my Doctors convinced me to go back on them.
I don't have live in partner or kids, I am dealing with very chronic and painful
health issues and have in home nursing to help me I am barely managing on any
given day.
I can't imagine how hard it would be to be dealing with what you're dealing with,
plus having children and a Husband to care for.
Pat yourself on the back for doing what you can and do

I have periods like this lasting a couple days or so when everything I make is rather splendid. When ideas keep flooding out I go from one unfinished creation to the next. I like it. It's when I am "in the Zone". I just go with the flow get my basic idea built or partially built very roughly, then move on to the next. These creative phases have resulted in some of my best work and when the ideas stop flowing I will go back to all the rough builds and put in the hours doing the boring bits like alignment and texturing and completing it ready for sale. Also some of my best ideas have come from drug induced states both prescription and non prescription. So my advice is just roll with it, don’t question it, let things develop and progress, then go back later on and finish things off when your brain settles down.

Yeah, that sounds very much like side effects of your meds...which will hopefully subside quickly - all those side effects suck. I am so sorry you're having to go through this and keep sending my best to get through it all soon.

It the medication enhanced saying way to much, not being able to shut up, completely distracted and all over the place mentally, thoughts that seem to race, hot and cold flashes, moodiness, aggression, anxiety, finding myself feeling strangely that feels unfamiliar and odd I get the same way.
It intensifies and sometimes subsides after period of time and will sometimes
intensify depending on hormonal or stress factors in your life.
It is the Steroids. It will lessen in time or you'll grow use to it.

I always find posting in forums to be good for a bit of distraction when I can't focus on what I need ot be doing

I have all your symptoms, including the added list with paranoia about verbal diarhea (I refuse to look up how to spell that right damnit)... though mine comes naturally....

I'd definately try the exercise and food based ideas, and your idea about mindless games isn't a half bad idea... I find trying to speed play cubis, bejeweled 2, orguitar hero/rock band provides enough variety to get past antsyness.... reading might work depending on the book, but usually not.

have you mentioned any of this to the Dr's? you might want to, but hold out on adding another med to control it unless it becomes unbearable for several days....

days like yours I usually start random research on the web, or art collecting, best of luck

yep it is definitely the meds, and yes hot cold flashes too

yes I did tell the dr on wed, it is to be expected

tolerable for now, I do not want to have to take anything else

they already have me on the prednisone, claritin (I have allergies) and prilosec for the tummy cuz of the prednisone

the symptoms seem to have eased off from what they were today, mind is not racing quite as much

I want to thank you all for posting here with the ideas and suggestions as it has helped a lot, being able to turn here for advice

Yeah I wake up shivering, cold and literally drenched every time I sleep.
I figure it is hormonal changes I was hoping it would lessen by now after 16 years.
The Steroids do effect different things but it does get better.
