What would YOU Trade?

Hi Kids,

Here's a question for a slow day at work...


If you were able to make a permanent, even trade of 3 things from SL with 3 things from RL, what would they be?

Here's mine:

1: My home - I would much rather live in a cozy cottage on a hill in New England overlooking the water near a great lighthouse than my RL digs - a nice but rather bland ranch style in the burbs. -.-

2: The population - If I would SO LOVE to see Nekos and Furries and Mechs and Fairies and Vampires (at night - haha) and Tinies, etc., shopping in my local Walmart alongside the regular human types.

3: The ability to dramatically change my appearance on a whim, i.e. hairstyles and skin.

1. My Av's body....gravity will never touch Sunni's body...laugh lines will never touch her face. However, they have already descended on me in RL.

2. My horse. I would love to have one in RL

3. My alt....she could go to work while I stayed home and cleaned the house, spent time with the kids, played on SL, watched Maury, etc, etc, etc.

My avitars skin..... it will never break out or wrinkle...it's flawless, so I'll take that. My own shape is close enough to hers that I really don't care.

The ability to TP..... oh how wonderful it would be to just transport to my brother or sister's place (both live 100s of miles away) to hang out for an evening...or tp to my fiance who's in Iraq...maybe just an overnight visit in his tent..hehe....It would so totally change the bummer 'away' aspect of his contract job.

My house....no doubt...I want my SL house.....hell I want all of em.....LOL I love my SL beach plot and the Asian styling of my home...it would cost me a bloody fortune to do it IRL so yeah... I'll take that. *grin*

Can I just choose one thing?

How about my entire existence, SL for RL? Well, except for my family. I'd miss them if I didn't have my family around, and my dogs. Can I bring them with me?

I want to change my answer to Oryx's answer, only I don't want all my family and I don't have a dog.

I'm not sure I'd want the abillity to TP if it meant I might get stuck somewhere I couldn't move if it failed, or worse, in one of those blank areas we used to end up.

However! The insta-diet of sliders are great.

I'd trade my blow-dryer for some of Helyanwe's hair IRL. You can use all the Manic Panic dye in the universe and it'll wash out to drab in a few days.

And I'd like to change into whatever critter suited my whim that day. *sigh* "No, honey, I cannot do the dishes, I'm a little bunny today. Sorry!"

I know those didn't eaxcty tell everything I'd trade, but that's what I'd want!

Not to mention the dreaded shoe migration problem...

Being able to keep my bodyshape and change appearance semi instantly.

I'd love to be able to carry my house and car and 4000 other items in my pocket without taking up any space.

Be careful what you wish for. You might also get griefers who can send you 20,000 metres into space. TPs might leave you with your hair and your shoes up your ass, and you might arrive naked at the restaurant for dinner with your in-laws.
I like SL, but I love RL!

Definitely, I'd want to have the ability to change my form and gender at will. I would love being able to be as versitile as Ceera is, with all her furry and Human forms, and all so untouched by aging, weight issues, etc!

I'd love the ability to create beautiful things from thin air! If I could build in RL like I can in SL, with no materials costs, and not necessarily having to obey the constraints of physics, I'd be a very wealthy architect/contractor in RL, with a castle to live in and all the luxuries I could dream of. I wouldn't need to move the splendid home that I have in SL to RL - I could build a new one, or an even better one, and not have it cost a cent!

And if I had to pick just one other aspect - not aging or getting ill would have to be it. Ceera will always be as young and beautiful and healthy as I imagine her to be. Unlike the steady march of time that besets our RL selves.

And if I had just those three things transferred to RL, I'd hardly need SL, so wouldn't miss not being able to do them in SL.

#1. Bodily functions. I love never having to eat, poop, pee or sleep. Think how productive I'd be.

#2. My body. Great definition and never ever having to step into a gym.

#3. I have to agree with the population. I love the diversity in SL and hope what we learn from it carries over into RL.

D'oh! Right!!!!!! Ow. Think I'll just take a plane or a car.

Great thread. Makes you think a little.

1. Avatar shape. Though I'd probably not be 7'3" tall in RL with massive arms and legs, I still dig that 6-pack I have in SL.

2. I'd rather have my SL Avie send me as much in US$ per month as I send him in L$ per month.

3. I'd love to have a big set of prims to play with in RL out in the back yard. Talk about the ultimate Lego (TM) set.

1) my family-- I'd bring both SL and RL together if I could.
2) my friends-- SL hugs are nice, but I'd love to actually be able to wrap my arms around those who have come to mean so much to me.
3) my job-- I've the best boss ever

Yep, and relogging in RL to get your boots out of your ass, could be a bit traumatic!!

Fortunately, I've been able to do this. My RL daughter moved across country to start her own life and I suggested she get on SL so we can still get together, if not at least virtually. My son, away at college, gets on every once in a while, though he's more of a WOW player. And my wife is now both my RL and SL partner.

TROUT!!!! no way you would spend 6hours waiting through security for each and every TP you do in SL. I don't EVER want to hear you say one word about lag. no no no no no, and no.

BUILDING!!! The ability to create fantastical, whimsical, gravity-defying structures out of thin air, and put them back in my "pocket" when I'm done.

My wardrobe. My dresses, my hair... and the ability to adjust it to my RL body as easily as I can to my SL bod. Oh - and it all has to be comfortable, too, as long as we're fantasizing... Hey, can I include my no-human avatars in this as well? I LOVE my little mockingbird.

The people. I've met some of the most wonderful people in SL, from all over the world. I may meet some of them, someday, but how cool would it be to get them all together?

1. I would trade my truck in for teleporting ability.

2. I would trade in paint cans and wood, for the ability to quickly build on rooms to my home and texturize/recolor the walls with ease. I always imagine that, how easy it would be to renovat my RL home with prims. That would be lovely as hell lol

3. Trade in real world vision limitations for the ability to cam and look up close at people without them knowing. hehe and being able to zoom in at objects would be great.


It would also be cool to fly, but I wouldn`t be willing to give up walking for that.

I almost included TP ability in my OP, until I remembered about the shoes, hair, glasses, jewelry, etc. ending up my arse upon arrival. lol

OH! And I would also love to have my Avi buy as many USDs for me as I buy Lindens for her!
