So after spending the usual way too long for my own good time on SL, I tried to log out. I clicked on file/logout, but that had no effect. Then I tried clicking on the X in the corner. I saw it depress and come back up, but it didn't close the window. I even tried pulling the plug on my net conenction, but I remained connected. In desperation, I tried unplugging my PC from thr mains, but SL is still running quite happily.

How can I log out of SL?

Warda: try to rez a prim by touching the floor. If that works, you have probably been assimilated. But watch out! Do not try to jump of buildings and fly unless you've made absolutely sure!

"In desperation, I tried unplugging my PC from thr mains, but SL is still running quite happily." You can't mean you unplugged your comp and it was still running.

I had the same problem. Now, we know we've all had countless issues with logging IN, but logging out? That was a first for me..LOL

There's a shutdown and rolling restart today. The problem will take care of itself soon!

Same problem. I even tried stepping away from the computer entirely only to find Secondlife following me around on all the other computers. Now it’s on every TV and even in the mirrors.

Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do.

I have heard that in this RL that we sometimes read about, people can't fly. Can anyone verify that, please?

*edit* The concept scares me, that's why I ask.

You aren't using a laptop by any chance? If so, remove the battery as well.

I've had SL hang a couple times when I tried to disconnect. Did you try to Ctrl-Alt-Del, then shut it down manually from there?

Next time you log on, it will ask if you want to send a crash report. I always do, because it makes me laugh, but I honestly don't think it does any good.

second life sucks at network(barely making sense to match barely making sense). the client doesn't know if it's been disconnected from the server 3/4ths of the time.
