so, there must be one that works for both parties.

The animation can start and you get lost in it and lose the need for the animation- don't purposefully be dense, I am attempting subtlety here.

Why would it not be feasible? Cheating is of course one reason- but that will beget a "is it cheating?" thread, to then be followed by the usual "where's my stipend?" "Bots" "SL is borked" -oh wait we are having that one now!
So another reason, maybe some one doesn't have the right hardware tech wise- or maybe someone is not the same RL sex- or maybe someone is terribly shy and doesn't want to be seen? Or they think they're too old, or too fat, or too short- what ever!

It doesn't matter how old it is- point is 11 year olds should not be aware of it let alone watch it- I have been aware for a long time and would not see such garbage.

As for letting it be seen - my pc is in the kitchen- kid can't watch anything at home that i am not aware of His friend that started this however... and to add, I once called his mother to let her know he- the kid- had made an SL account and not even on the Teen Grid - kid is trouble- mine does not hang out with him any longer and i haven't a clue what the hell his parents are doing that he gets away with this crap.

As you could tell from my reference to grandmothers I had already read this and it is as much use as a chocolate teapot in answering my question about what PG really means in both SL and the forums. I asked the question because I thought that there might be something I was missing that would make some sort of sense but obviously there is not. I would be extremely unhappy about an eight year old reading this thread and the forums generally and in my short time here the public behaviour in PG areas of SL that I have seen has been more often than not racist obscene aggressive and lewd sometimes with mentors standing by and ignoring it. The rules and standards seem inconsistently expressed and applied and I am not surprised that no-one worries too much about observing them nor that no-one seems particularly to try to enforce them. Other forums I have used dont allow you to use nonPG words and a thread title like this would never get started or would be moderated out of existence and bans applied immediately. Some other forums dont really care what you say but you know where you stand in both types unlike here. I suppose saying this will get me told off so I might as well add that until something is done about it I think that LL dont have a cats chance in hell of convincing corporate users that SL is a suitable platform.

Tarina, look someplace around the front of the place, I think or ask someone. Many of the people who shop there are repeat customers. Like I mentioned, it's easy to miss this item, because it's just a little blue rug, not a pillow.

If you want details, I guess you could look up the MPAA's guidelines for PG-13. In general, it means "no profanity, no graphic violence, and no talk or images of an explicitly sexual or pornographic nature". Oh, and no exposed female nipples.

In my view, this thread (up through the first page, anyway) slides in under the wire, but only just. I think Marianne would give it a downcheck...and she's probably a better judge than I am.

You're right, we are all adults here, or supposed to be. That has nothing to do with the forum guidelines, or calling them "PG". Everyone, at least in the USA, has a pretty good idea of what that means, so it's a useful term. Easier than having to invent and define another one, like "civilized".
