Has anyone else been noticing an issue with peoples attachments being left behind when they port out or log off? I have been having to clean up various attachments like collars, naughty bits, AOs that get left behind by the owners of them. They are not on the ground as if they were dropped. They are in the air at a height that would be normal for them as if they were still attached. New issue?

I wasn't aware that it was possible for that to happen with attachments, honestly.. but hey, if it's happening, it must be, right? I've noticed attachments visually sticking, but if I zoom in closer, they disappear. Other than that, I've not seen this happening at all. _____________________

Yes they show up in the Objects list and I have to return them. Like I said they are not on the ground as if they were dropped there. They are hanging in the air as if they were still attached.

Dropped stuff can end up in the air, especially if the avatar was hovering at the time.

Must have a lot of accidental droppings of items then. Just today I had to return an AO left in a cage someone logged out from, a collar left stuck to, umm, an Adult device, and invisible bits just standing there without it's owner on my draw bridge. All different owners. My sim really is not frequented by many that would just drop their attachments like that. Not all at once I think.

Have you talked to any of the people involved? I'm just wondering what their exoerience was - whether they TPed, crashed, logged out and whether they missed the attachments or if the things somehow were duplicated.
What kind of land perms are set? Was it just one area or a few? _____________________

No but that is a good idea. I will ask them if they received them back in their lost and found folder.
Anyone can rez objects. and yes it was all in the same general area of the sim, but not the same location. they all happened in different parts of my castle. |

Post if you find anything out. This is an interesting and odd thing.

Might it have had something to do with the loggings-out due to inventory server not being available, as mentioned in this post? -

The inventory server thing happened after this thread was posted, and the whole thing lasted about an hour.

Do you mean like this? I used to see this happen fairly often next to my 512 where a Linden road crosses a sim border. People crashing I assume. I haven't seen it for a while.

Well in the RC viewer (at least, I don't know about the standard viewer), the right click menu has changed recently, and it could be that because of this, people are accidentally dropping attachments more. It's very easy to do when you're used to a different setup.

It's very easy to do when you're used to a different setup. Those changes made it less easy to access attachments, though, not more easy. _____________________

I haven't seen it for a while. ![]() I have often seen this, and still very occasionally do. But I've also noticed a couple of times, the avatar it belonged to was standing right nearby; wearing it. And it was also hanging there in the air. SO it's possible, the avatar never knows/realizes that a copy of it was left somewhere.......I usually noticed it happening on arrival after a TP, and it always just struck me as hilarious......for some reason. |

I've seen it before too. My girlfriend once lost one of the wearable attachments that I make (that is invisible) and the update script in it sent her a new one for well over a month - every day once I did the update. I have no idea how long it was there before I updated the thing to start the updates triggering.
It's rare, but I have seen it. Not sure the cause. |
