Packets are being sucked from another part of the space-time continuum.

and still not reaching me?
I'm just not sure how it is that nearly half as many packets again are being lost as were actually sent in the first place.

You are losing all of yours and nearly half of mine. I was wondering who was doing that. Knock it off!

It probably has something to do with quantum mechanics weirdness somehow.

Perhaps the extra packets lost are proof of a separate, invisible world of antipackets?

But if half of his packet loss was anti-packets, they should cancel out the real packets he is losing. Or would loss of an anti-packet equal the gain of a packet. Minus a negative is plus a positive.

*Tries to use some logic here*

So you had a packetloss of 146%.... If you would had a packetloss of 100%, you would not receive a single packet. But you lose more... 146% to know. So you loss a negative amount of packets.... Meaning, you are getting 46% of the packets? You should be happy....

:P

You lose all your packets, some get found and returned to you only to be lost again.

Yeah, I don't know. My competence in this area of study is virtually nil. :p

I'm afraid we're in for another rough weekend. I'm getting reports of awful lag and packet loss from my friends currently in-world.

If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
And the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
And the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
Then the socket packet pocket has an error to report!

If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash,
And the double-clicking icons put your window in the trash,
And your data is corrupted 'cause the index doesn't hash,
Then your situation's hopeless, and your system's gonna crash!

If the label on your cable on the gable at your house,
Says the network is connected to the button on your mouse,
But your packets want to tunnel to another protocol,
That's repeatedly rejected by the printer down the hall.

And your screen is all distorted by the side effects of gauss,
So your icons in the window are as wavy as a souse,
Then you may as well reboot and go out with a bang,
'Cause as sure as I'm a poet, the sucker's gonna hang!

When the copy of your floppy's getting sloppy on the disk,
And the microcode instructions cause unnecessary RISC,
Then you have to flash your memory and you'll want to RAM your ROM,
Quickly turn off your computer and be sure to tell your mom!

Ooooh, I LOVE that one! :D

Raynor has had 245% packet loss recently. I couldn't believe it.

It's those strange quarks, probably out messing with the ones with charm. Plus as noted, quantum mechanics never adds up...

What I want to know is, who's gonna clean up all those lost packets cluttering the grid?

Not only are the original ones getting lost, but they're getting busy with each other and having babies in the pipes.

No wonder the grid's so laggy, what with all those lost packets wandering around aimlessly getting in everybodies way.

the university in our city where I work has something called MAMI. It's a particle accelerator. maybe it's interfering with our SL... :D

146% loss eh? I figure that means that you are losing 100% of your packets, plus you will probably lose 46% of your future packets (as an optimistic estimate).

Actually I think the extra 46% are packets you successfully received earlier. It's now pulling them back out of your browser and losing them.

Hmm...maybe this is the true cause of inventory loss?

Did you win packets from a Sploder packet ball recently? Or did you buy illegally obtained packets off eBay?

Maybe LL are deducting an extra 50% of your packets to punish you for getting illegal ones....naughty!
