Linden Bears, are they big collectable items?

My SL Daughter, Reisuki, has a collection of Linden Bears. Some she got at the SL5B celebration. A lot of them she got in a "scavener hunt" where Lindens left a dozen or so Linden Bears out in a 5-sim area, hidden in shrubberies or sitting out in the open, for people to find and collect. I'm not sure how many she has now. 15 to 20, perhaps?

Each is sort of a unique representation of the maker, and each Linden is supposed to create their own bear. So some are really neat, and others very... abstract.

In general, if you met a Linden in-person, and ask them if they would be kind enough to give you one of their bears, most of them will do so.

Find a Linden and ask for one!

I would find it hard to ask for one, was brought up that it's rude to ask :o

Amazed how some have mentioned having so many, do these run around stalking Lindens?

"May I have a bear please?" is not rude!

I call it "pestering."

In all seriousness, I've jes been lucky enough to run across a lotta them over time. Many are at their places in Linden Village, or given at office hours, or otherwise presented.

Yep! I've picked up a few around Linden Village, especially on the regions North of Help Island Public.

Some are just there for the taking, others you need to work at - I know there's at least a couple (Simon, Enus and maybe Meta ) where you have to solve a puzzle to get the brear..

Meta's is the riddle.

Torley's is also available on Here. Look for it as the top of a spire. Bear in mind that it's Torleys, and therefore any resemblance to a bear is tangental.

I just got an offline letting me know that Pathfinder was nice enough to replace that one for me. Sadly, that Adam Linden bear and Maikiko Linden doll are likely as gone as their creators. A shame. I liked the Maikiko.

Here's a small part of my collection, as pictured last year:

...now if only I had an actual place to display all of these!

i rarely get out so i don't meet many lindens, the one i did meet in lusk was frontier, he gave me a lovely head cat (cat that sits on your head). It looked just like him, i was very excited, it sits above my fireplace now.

i'd love to start a collection, perhaps i need to whinge more when my sim goes down. normally i just shrug my shoulders and go to a sandbox, time to put a foot down and ask for a bear :D

awsome photo marianne.

I started to do pics of mine and built a display cause to display them via pic, but lost interest

they are too prim heavy (some are) for me to display them on my land

I think the lindens should have made their bears the same way the linden trees and such are made, so it would only take one prim to display them

THAT would have been handy

wonder what ever happened with the linden trading cards I heard about (from a linden) never did hear anymore about that
I also have a few linden mugs

He was a bear. I wasn't going to argue with him.

The cards, mugs, and boxes date from 2006 or so, and never really seemed to catch on. Not like the bears, at least.

you can still find the empty box vendors in a few places on the old mainland. I come across them sometimes in my travels.

I ask every Linden I see in-world, and every Linden I speak to in Live Help for their bear. Only once have I not gotten it, because it was a fairly new employee and he didn't have his done yet.

I think Lindens are figments of all your imaginations, been here almost 3 years in one guise or another and have still NEVER seen a Linden.....somebody needs to give me proof they do exist....this is a stick up....hand over the bears ! :p

Would photographic evidence do?
