It's indeed a good idea to establish alternate, reliable communications with friends, customers, etc. for when SL breaks.
A Gmail account for you avatar is is a nice thing to have. I mention Gmail specifically because of its excellent spam filter. _____________________

Just be thankful it didn't happen while you were all hot and "in the saddle".... CRASH!!!.... ..... and then when you can finally log back in, "Sorry, your sim is not available"!... so you rezz in a different sim at a busy landing spot, completely naked with all naughty bits in place, and you can't TP home, because... "Sim is not available".... You scramble to find a folder full of cloths to drag into ourself, and inventory won't rezz... So you scramble to pull up the map and look for a less public spot to TP to, but the Map won't rezz... And your GF IM's you saying "where am I? There are all these strangers around..., I'm naked!! Send me a TP!!!! So you scramble to find a safe landmark you can TP to... and your inventory won't rezz... So you fly off looking for a safe less public place...and you crash crossing the sim border.... After all of which, a cold shower was not needed. Ummm.... I heard that happened to a friend once... yeah thats it.... a friend. _____________________

I did get to take my girl to my home and we were buck naked and ready to go when the message popped up region was shutting down in one minute. We just continued and before we knew it we were both TP naked to other parts of the world. Talk about Big Brother watching. lol |
