Will the SL economy go up, down, or stay the same during the next 6 months ?

Gambling was done away with and camping benefits have been reduced. (While probably good things in general, it results in less money generating in the economy) VAT has been introduced for the European Union which, in my opinion, will lessen land sold and make it cheaper. LL has said that most of its land business comes from Europe. We college students are back in classrooms. (Although I am posting in the forums instead of doing my homework, lol. It still may reduce time students can be in world.) The quality of SL has been pretty bad for me at peak times and on the weekends. There are talks of the RL economy in America going into a slump resulting in less "playtime" cash people can spend.

After taking all of that into consideration, I believe the SL economy is going to take a slight to moderate dive for a while.

I agree basically. Though I think the trend of more signups, but less US$ spent per person will make the economy still decline

I still think if someone came out with a product that was basically a clone of SL in 2005 they would be able to steal a large number of Residents.

Me included. I wasn't here in 2005 but if I could find a similar platform congruent to my perceptions of SL before the floodgates opened in 2006 I would be so gone.

SL a year ago had 1/10th as many people and 1/4th as many concurrents. I think a clone of SL in 2005 wouldn't be able to steal too much from SL without having the same problems we're seeing..

if it stole 10% if the userbase that would be a LOT though.

If it stole more, sure they would likely have the same problems. But with better PR they could weather it.
