You have to be a Premium member.
Once you're signed up to Premium, you start earning your stipend on the Tuesday of each week. If you sign up on a Wednesday, you effectively don't get a stipend that week, but you get an extra one at the end of your membership, so it balances out. |

Every Tuesday, whether you log in or not.
My suggestion is to check your transaction history, then if you still don't see it, then go to the support page and submit a ticket. Or you could try a Live Chat session... _____________________

There is not really an *apply* process. You simply sign up and they start charging.
$9.95/month or 22.50/quarter (7.50/month) 72.00/year (6.00/month) Go to your Account page and you can upgrade from there. _____________________

By the way, the L$300 per week stipend for Premium members isn't "Free Money". Linden Lab is just giving you back a portion of your annual fee for the Premium membership.
If you add up the annual cost of the Premium membership, and compare that to what it would cost you to buy L$300 each week on the Lindex with your credit card, the Premium membership costs more than just buying the L$ directly, when you need them. Of course, Premium members can buy Mainland parcels, which the rest of us can only rent from Premium members. And a Premium member gets free maintenance fees (Land Tier) on the first 512 M2 of land that they purchase on the Mainland. I suppose that if you WANT Mainland property, that you own directly from Linden Lab and not rent from a private sim owner, then the annual value of that free 512 M land tier (about $5 USD per month) almost balances the remainder of the cost difference between the stipend paid out and the cost of the membership. But most people who DON'T have Premium memberships are quite happy renting their land from Private sim owners, or owning whole sims on our own as private islands. Premium members are *supposed* to get better support from Linden Lab. t least, they can submit help support tickets for more types of complaints. But to listen to them on the forums, The added level of support is largely nonexistent. _____________________

I think you are slightly understating the case for premium membership here.... Annual premium menbership = US$ 72.00 Stipend = 52 weeks x L$ 300/week = L$ 15600 @ 265 L$/US$ = US$ 58.87 Tier for 512m = 12 x US$5.00 = US$ 60.00* So if you stick to 512 land, you get US$ 118.87 worth of stuff for your US$ 72.00 = US$ 46.87 profit. ....on quarterly membership, that's US$ 18 more, so you still gain US$ 28.87 .....on monthly membership, that's another US 29.4 so now you lose US$ 0.53 With no land, you can lease 512 tier for L$77/week = US$ 15.11 / year... term......cost....income....net cost (US$/year) year........72.......73.98.......-1.98 quarter...90.......73.98.......14.02 month...119.4....73.98.......45.42 . So, as long as you take annual membership, you make a profit even if you have no land. If you have land, savings depend on your tier level, but you can still make a profit on quarterly membership. *would make more sense using average island rent here, but I don't know what that is. It will be less. |

Lifetime memberships still get L$500.
Older premium memberships get L$500 (I think). Some premiums get L$400. New premium residents get L$300. It all depends on when you joined. _____________________

I still get L$500 a week as a premium member since 2004. I also have 3 alts born before 6/6/06 that get L$50 for each week they actually log in (I try to remember to log them in all at once on a Monday morning before I get into the shower).
L$500x52= L$26000 L$50x3x52 =L$7800 L$33800@265L$/US$= US$127.55 Annual Membership = US$72.00 So Linden Lab pays me something under US$55 a year to keep my account here without even counting the tier on the 512m2 of land. So yeah, guess I'll stay. _____________________

I still get 500 too. That went to 400 sometime in 06 I think. It did... for like a month or two before open registration was implemented I think, but it didn't stay that way for long. I'm pretty sure basic accounts from that time frame (the L$400/premium account time frame) also get L$50/week logged in, and it was only after open registration that basic accounts no longer got a stipend. _____________________

Basic accounts created prior to 6/6/2006 get a L$50 per week stipend, but must have logged on at least once in the prior week to get that week's stipend. I have two accounts that get that little bit each week. Both are Basic, with payment info on file. _____________________

ok, so currently, if someone turns their account into premium, without renting out their First Land parcel, is there a profit or not?

I like Drongle's analysis.
Let's say that 512 m2 isn't enough to support your prim addic...er, building needs. You could create a little alt army, make them all annual pay premium accounts, form a group, and buy a larger parcel. Tier would be free, and the stipends could be either spent on your shoe collec...er, daily necessities, or saved up and used to pay back the purchase price of the land. _____________________
