A lot of vendor boards don't allow 0$L transactions.
And in my case, many of my demos aren't demos as much as 'limited function' versions of my existing gadgets. They do less than the main one, so you pay less- 1 L$.

Drop a notecard on the merchants saying that the demo just wasn't what you were looking for and to please refund your L$1. (On what grounds could that be considered spam?) If that became standard practice for customers, I'll bet merchants would soon enough learn how to set demos for L$0.

I'm starting to see places where the $1L is refunded immediately after you get the demo.

Charging for something that you can't use (ie- it has no value other than to see it maybe once) is dumb. If there IS any upload charges for demo hair textures (other than 1 to span all product demos) then the creator isn't very smart. I don't buy that they have these charges to recoup with hair demos... not hair. Skin? yes.. 3x the upload charges and you can find those demos for free. Just reeks of no justification and more towards getting a few extra L$ outta people to me.

And then if people have alts... Now, that's something that bugs me about demos... why are they usually copy/no trans? I *know* I don't need multiple copies, especially since most demos are no-mod - but it would be very nice to be able to tell a friend, "Oh, you like this hair? I got it at ___. Here, try the demo and see how it fits." or "I saw this shoe today I thought you'd like - picked up a demo and a landmark for you." I don't know if many people would actually do that, but I probably would. I used to pre-shop for my partner, at least. And like you say, Clarissa, then there are alts. |
