See- they have always seemed silly to me too- Difficult to deal with and just inventory clutter. So I am leaning to waste of money for adverts- Now Orxy says they work for her.. OK- next step for decisions on wisdom of paying for adverts therein- will poll my store group presently a little over 200 peeps and ask their opinions on the matter. Thanks guys- you might ask your group members as well how they see it- since they are our target group :)

Well... not necessarily. Presumably the prime target of an ad would be those who would be interested in the advertised store, but don't know it yet. The existing group members are interested, but they already know about it.

To put it another way: by not advertising in magazines when others do, one selects a group of customers who are differentially disinclined to see magazine ads. In theory, there could be a whole huge group of potential customers who never get in the group *because* they read magazines.

But, to be honest, I doubt it. :o

I read them occasionally when I remember, I advertise in one and I do read it. I like Second Style and Prim Perfect. On occasion, I like reading the drama at the Avastar. There are so many, it's just time consuming.

that's a good point- but- if I already have a following it "follows" if you will, that these are the target' type group- extrapolating to maybe if these folks do or don't read the mags I can assume others of similar mindset may be in the same mindspace.. if nothing else it gives me an excuse to interact with them.
