Im looking for an offline software that will allow me to build and then be able to import it into second life. I have heard of it being around but have never been able to find anything that will let you be able to do it. Im looking primarily for free software or inexpensive software.
Thank You,
John FLieg

Or, you can run an opensim and build with the native Secondlife toolset. You'd have to use a viewer that supports import/export such as Meerkat (I think the new Emerald supports import/export as well). If you're wanting to model sculpties or other organic shapes for future import, then Blender is really the best choice when it comes to price and power. The opensim makes it handy to build without restriction in a familiar environment, texture uploads are free, and no one interrupts you with IMs

Or you can log in to the largely unpopulated beta grid and build there.
