Glad I'm not the only one. Of course I realize I'm a bit resistant to change...but not all change is good. ;)

Thanks for the thread. Your opinion would not have been heard in the dozen other threads about the new site.

Excuse me, I had NOT read any other threads about the new look since it JUST came on to my screen today I have no idea other have seen it prior to today and there for did NOT search, which BTW search is useless here to.

The new Xstreet layout if you mean, is I expect about Xstreet and therefore dismissed as not pertaining to the SL home webpage.

But gosh so sorry I botherd you with my stupid redundant post.

I rather like it, personally.. it's much more my style.

(In fact, it's now pretty close to matching my OS theme...)

It looks like the Lindens picked a new template for their Livejournal.

I neither love nor hate. It's a webpage. Looks okay, does what I need it to do.

I do like the searchable maps feature, though

I hate it as well. When will LL learn to leave well enough alone and go work on things that actually need fixing.

I liked the maps until I realized I could not get the name of a sim by hovering over it. It is kind of neat to see the world all spread out before me like that.

The 'Dashboard' itself will take some getting used to. Like Brianna said in another thread, this has the potential for a lot of privacy violations, especially for someone on a shared computer. The events section is super-tiny, making it almost impossible to browse - not that I ever used it much on the website anyway.

And XStreet is too wide for my monitor, making shopping or browsing there tedious and not fun at all. I probably won't be shopping there nearly as much any more.

And yeah, totally agree on the "Oh, look, shiny!" coming out right after the adult content letter debacle. Not falling for that one, LL.

It's very black and white, isn't it? I mean, the 'log in' page is so colorful in comparison. Then if you log in you are brought to what looks like a black and white xerox.

I suppose I will get used it eventually. And they are probably used to hearing us all carp when anything about SL is changed ;)

I think it's evolution. I was surprised to see the landing URL of secondlife.com was mostly about me. =)

It's a big change.

I guess I should visit it. I rarely goto the main SL website to care. Maybe they will migrate the change to the forums and then I will be mad.
How much did they pay Big Spaceship or whereever was the company they hire to do the last makeover? They given them the boot?

Events for education was one of the areas I checked daily. On the new site it first took some time to find it, then when I did and clicked on an event, I thought either it wasn't working or there was major lag...until I saw the description of the event waaayyy up in the right hand corner of my screen. Then *it* had to be clicked on to get the entire description.

Arrggghhh!! Something that used to be a simple procedure.

THIS! Thanks Talon...this is what I've been thinking too. It's all good to go with a new fresher look and redesign the info layout. It needed to be done - the old look was a mess, honestly.

However, there are many other issues that need addressing that surely are more urgent /critical to the user base than the "look" of their website.

Please LL, prioritize and get to work on what needs doing!
