Build something.

Write a script.

Look through the forums for unanswered questions and answer the ones you don't know the answers to. More challenging that way.

Try the Hipihi beta. For a real challange try to register for the uWorld beta. Good luck on that unless you read Chinese.

Go for a walk.

Work on your user page in the wiki.

You mean, you're bored in SL?

Go exploring in some fabulous builds:
/327/36/222663/1.html

Take some classes at New Citizens, Inc (NCI). You can find them in search under (I think) classified/education, or just TP to their campus in Kuula and look at the big schedule board in the sandbox.

Go to the Ivory Tower of Prims and do the self-paced building course.

Join a group that does something you like in RL ... sailing, writing, religion, whatever. Just search in the Group tab.

or, give us a hint what sort of thing you might like?

When bored, do a totally random act of kindness on the grid, anonymously.

Don't use $L if at all possible.

It will make your month and put a spring back into your step that will transcend the grid, the computers, everything.

Explore!

Look at the Showcase in world - tabs of different interests. I have found great stuff to do :)

I just had a look at the thread started by Weston Graves about looking to move to a themed place- someone answered with some places I will be hoping to explore next week :)

What would a random act of kindness not involving L$ be?

Removing several thousand objects from someone's inventory?

LOL. In my case that would be kind.

Other than that you can:

-Give landmarks to intersting places to new players you happen across.
-Drop a notecard on a creator/builder whose stuff you've always admired telling them how great you think there work is and how much it adds to your Sl experience.
-Pop into a few of your favorite builds just to hit the tip jar, even if you haven't been there in awhile
-Log in as a PIOF alt (if you have one) or your main acount and add lesser known places and shops to your pics.

Yeah, I'm a dork. :o

Okay.

When a British farts, he says 'Excuse me'
When a Singaporean farts, he says 'Not me'

I do this occasionally when I am on tea break.

Google 'random word'. Go to a website that generates random words. Generate a random word and the paste it into 'search all' in SL then randomly pick a place from the results and visit

Last night I did 2 random word searches and visited a recreation of the enclosure in Jurasic park (minus the dinosaurs disappointedly but still a nice build) and my second search took me to an aquarium that had lots of cool fish swimming around in too large domed breasts.

This is a great way to see stuff you would not normally come accross or look for.

You searched for 'Large Domed Breasts' then?

join the Mentors.

Friday, LL deleted all the Orientation Islands. Now, newbies log on directly to Help Island. Completely unstructured, no tutorials.

The Mentors are going nuts trying to explain things to people who don't know how to move, fly, or talk.

You mean we are only meant to answer the questions we know the answers too?

I've just been making the answers up all these years.

My bad?

Oh. My. God.

Are they actually trying to *lower* their retainment figures? The only sensible reason I could think of for them doing this is they might be rebuilding the OIs, bigger, better, and more helpful. But if I were them I'd have the damn things ready to go in a few seconds: close each island off, sweep it clean and install the new one, re-open, then move on to the next.

That is possibly one of the dumbest moves I think I've seen LL make...
