The best pet shop?

Hello,

I'm looking for a good pet shop, with smart pets with free roam. Do you know any good one to visit?

A few days ago i found one with dogs, cats and wild animals. They have free roam, but also follow orders (lay, sit, sleep), make friends, follow you (even fly with you) and some of the pets have a defensive mode to attack strangers who appear in your land.

I guess that they are pretty good and with a good design, but i'm looking for more options, maybe i can find something better.

Thanks!

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Try VKC (Virtual Kennel Club). The dogs are trainable, and they free-roam, they go off and investigate things or greet people. You can command them to stay within a parcel or within a certain range of metres, or you can simply let them roam free. You can also train them to do tricks and they have a certain degree of AI. I think they're the single most amazing thing ever created in SL.

I like the dogs at Zooby's, but have a look at the cats made by Damani.
Though their usual business is prefabs and more, I think the kittens turned out very well... they roam, they play with a pet ball (comes with the cat), use the scratching post (L$100 if I remember correctly) and "use" the food bowl (L$80). You can order them to come to you, follow and all other interactions they usually do on their own - means you may try to order them and see if they are willing to do what you say. ;) Mine happen to love the indoor pool, I stopped counting how many times I had to get them out of there...

Available in black, white and tabby. L$799 a cat and they are copy ;)

And there are other suppliers, but I have to look up the list.

Zooby's all the time, if not for the rest... but for the amazing design (sculpted) and textures.

You might want to try Paradise Pets, and Anipets. It's been a while since I visited either, but one or other of them might have what you're looking for.

I have the black cat from Damani which i adore. Also have the rabbits from Second Wildlife and the rabbits are only 1 prim. Both these pets allow for an access list if you want to share their menu and affection with other household members.

I hate to be braggy...but

Well, I hate to say this, but Penny's Pets has the best. We have a huge selection of dogs and cats...70 breeds of dogs to be honest. We also have African animals, Farm Animals and a full line of North American Wildlife. The animals at Penny's pets aren't really "roamers" and as a result, they dont' ROAM off world, or end up on your neighbor's roof. My dogs and cats have Artificial Intelligence which means they think for themselves. When they're hungry, they go to their dishes to eat, when they are tired, they go find their beds.

They also have tons of cute animations -- sit, down, sleep, speak, shake, beg, play dead. And when they perform these actions, their bodies and legs actually move into the proper positions. Oh, you can also add your friends to their command list, turn them on and off to save on lag (and we know how laggy sculpture prims are) and recently I added a Random feature that is simply adorable. The dogs and cats come with their own set of food/water dishes and their own little beds.

They are transferrable so people can give them as gifts, and when something goes wrong if something goes wrong, and in SL something always goes wrong, we don't forget about you the minute we get your Lindens. Customer service is primary at Penny's Pets.

No, they don't attack. My animals are not now, nor will they ever be used as weapons.

Also, at Penny's Pets, we try to preserve a certain integrity...so you won't see rideable tigers or wolves that attack. The animals behave and move as their species dictate.

Also, each dog is made with a close attention to detail of its Real Life counterpart. I also do custom jobs for people and when possible will try and recreate their real life pet -- provided the avatar can get me a good picture to go by.

Hope this was helpful, and if you have any questions, feel free to IM PennyWhistle Cameron.

The sim is definitely worth seeing. Its an entire sim devoted to our love of animals, and most of them are displayed in a natural setting. And the Second Life Dog Show is an eyecatcher with each dog standing proudly on a show stand.

I have dogs from Penny's, Zooby's, and VKC. Cats from Zooby's, bunnies from Penny's and Zooby's, squirrels, chipmunks from Penny's and Second life animals.

Then Horses from Lone Star, AKK. Deer from AKK. Mule from Pet Paradise.

I can't remember where the chickens, rooster, goat and pig are from.

As always, I think "best" is terrible subjective, though I love my Maltese from Zoob. There seem to be more and more talented SL artists every day, almost all of whom combine complex scripting with amazing sculpting ability.

I don't think this is what you are looking for, but I will mention that I've made a pet Beta Fish (and Butterfly Fish which just needs to be boxed, as well as a catfish which is already swimming about in Lovelace, but is exclusive to the sim owner for another month). Silly things, really, I mean to say, RL fish don't roam, guard, attack, stay, follow and all that on command. Whoever heard of such a thing?

Oh, wait:

I will definitely visit Penny's.

I have a dog from Zooby's. She's cute, but I would prefer something with more AI. I really liked what I saw at Virtual Kennel Club in that regard, but I had two issues with them...the breed(s) I wanted either weren't available or were not well modeled, and I do not like their predatory pricing policy. Each animal purchased costs a little more than the last one.

If you want free roam sharks, manta rays and seagulls look no further than "ee Oh"

His creations are all over my sims - the manta rays are particularly cool as the fly slowly through the sea flapping their flexi wings.

The gulls are amazing too - I'v watched them soar over cliffs and catch gusts of iwind and stuff - amazing!

I second the vote for the Damanios Kittenz. I have purchased them twice---once as a gift, and once for myself when I saw how utterly adorable they are. They play with balls, lay at your feet, purr, and meow just like a real cat. And they will run to greet you when you come into the house. Awwww!

And while strictly speaking they may not be exactly pets, I have to mention the AKK Nubian and Alpine dairy goats. They are by far the most realistic goats I have seen in SL---e gads! the creator, Kristivon Kolache, understood conformation! and she was very nice about dehorning one for me.

And one more shout out to Tuber Potato's Free Range Chickens. Absolutely the best in SL! Feathered like chickens, move like chickens, and they sound like chickens. And they lay eggs!

I have two of those Damanios kittenz, and I love them. They did not do well in my house and kept getting stuck in the corner, but in the back yard, they are adorable and they always greet me.
I have two cows from Tuber Potato and I highly recommend them too. I would like to see a little more AI in them, but they are still great cows.
I want to try the latest Zooby pets, since they are low Prim and sound similar to my Daminios kittenz.
I have a DD dog, and its very nice, but it will not roam on its own.
The manta ray from Animalia is fantastic. I may swap my current shark and get theirs, but now I want to see the ones at ee ohh, as was mentioned here.
I really like free roamers that will stay on my property.

We're doing something sort of different over at Penny's Pets, and I would like to get the word out about it, and would like some suggestion on how.

We're sort of taking on a zoo-like appearance. For one thing, we recreated the Big Cat House like the one at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago for our tigers, panther, and leopards.

Also, we've got an Endangered Animal House where we will display a pair of endangered species for a month in their natural habitat.

In addition to those structures, we have a Special Exhibits building where we display 5 animals of a certain place or species...this past month was the animals of Australia, and we displayed a Kangaroo, an Emu, a pair of Koalas, a wombat and a dingo (and the whole time I was making the dingo, I kept saying to myself, "maybe the dingo ate your baybee).

Our final new structure, and one I am particularly fond of, is the still unnamed wolf enclosure. We have a pack of wolves, including three pups in their natural habitat.

Its fun I think to just come and wander, and we've placed lots of benches and tables so people can just lounge around and enjoy the scenery.

I was just there the other day, and I am excited to go back again. YOur animals are all very nice...Is there any chance that they may be sculptie some day? Right now, they seem to require a lot of prims. I particularly liked the cows myself.

I'm really torn about the sculpture prim issue, Bhakta. I hate to contribute to lag and they seem so laggy. And then there is the issue of the texturing...it just doesn't seem like you can get the defined texturing with the sculpture prims. Their faces seem smeary to me. If I can ever get to where I can do them really good, and to suit me, I would happily do some that way.
