I would agree somewhat, with what Melita said...... I 'do' SL because I need a break from RL.... However I cannot become 'immersed', in any finite sense, in something that is not real to me. My avi may look good, but it is not me in any way, character or behaviour. Although I'm a designer/architect in RL, I have no inclination to do that in SL. Probably odd to most folks, but like someone said earlier, SL can be many things to many people.

From: Seven Okelli If you *think* about immersion, you're not immersed. You're not thinking about The Game, are you? ETA: ...which you just lost, of course.

Ferrets don't play the game. Ferrets wait for you to play it and steal your socks when you're distracted.

Wow. There are some awesome explanations here, about how people enjoy their SL....and have to say, that they were a joy to read. Thanks. That's what it's all about, and Great Reminders..... or Great Introductions, for those who haven't tried it certain ways, yet. And the joy is in trying it all different ways.
