Complete text of an infamous tech support request that's become part of the lore for system administrators. From: Some User To: Support Guy Subject: help The computer fletely, mouse and all Reminds me of something that happened to me in grad school. I was at a small university in the college of education (read that no cash for real tech support people) in the late 90's. Part of my grad assistantship was keeping the various Win 95 boxes the profs had running. One morning EARLY (Like 6 AM) I got a panicked phone call from the head of the dept (I wasn't even out of bed yet). He had hit the power on button, heard a pop, everything went dead. I went to the uni in a hurry opened his machine and found it completely soaked in coffee on the inside. He had quite honestly thought the CD tray was a cup holder. ![]() |
