LOL usually means it was funny and maybe gave me a smile and or even a chuckle. Rofl probably means there was an actual audible sound made, and roflmao would mean to me there was a really big laugh. Everyone probably has their own interpretation of them but I seriously doubt that anyone takes them literally. I wish I was so funny that I had people literally rolling on the floor as often as they say.
Since there are no alternatives, I'm with you. We go with what we have and accept it. It is not because I think ppl might take my LOL and such literally it just... seems flat, because they are used so damn much for example... in text chat, a person can say something humourous and do a lol at the end or another person can say exact same thing and end it with a "chuckles" and for some reason it just seems to be more legit dunno why heh and chuckles *smiles*

I look carefully at profiles and chat with the person before extending friendship. (not saying I wouldn't be-friend someone for having a risque profile)... I would imagine there are not enough thought police to squash every sexy profile that wanders into the PG areas. Look, do what you want, but when 80% to 90% of the PICKS tab I see have nudity in them, and no one doing anything about it, I think it's wide open for you to do the same.
