Glad to know I'm not alone ^^ But annoyed cause they said they had sorted this out =(

From: Jillian Callahan
No, they didn't. They said they thought they had improved the situation, but not to expect serious visible work on it 'till tomorrow. Which I'd read "'till sometime in the near but not too near future".

interestingly enough, it clearly says

"[RESOLVED] Login Issues
[RESOLVED August 11, 2007 @ 12:21AM Pacific]

Ops has resolved this issue!

It turned out to be a hardware related problem. There was a hard disk in a RAID that failed and it had to be replaced."

but dont let that stand in the way of a great debate on the spirit of 'resolved' or what it may mean in the linden context.

It's been pretty shaky for me for the past several hours. First I had to try three times just to get in, then my sim sat at 0-2 FPS and massive time dilation for several minutes. After relogging I was able to work building for a couple of hours, but then stuff started not rezzing, moved prims started moving back, and finally I lost my connection.

To be honest, this is the first major trouble I've had all week. Don't know if that means it's just my sim's turn to go wonky, or if the problem has spread significantly.

I guess this is a good time to go watch Time Bandits.

/me waits for someone to tell me not to touch SL because it's evil. :p

that's the post that is relevant.

The wrecked hard disk issue was resolved. This isn't a wrecked hard disk, it's the issue that's made SL more unuseable than usual for the past 5 days.

Well, in this context "resolved" would mean that the problem was fixed - which it isn't.

The problem being that they fixed *A* problem, not *THE* problem.

Because it's relevant. The post you liked to was NOT relevant. You aren't understanding that they had indeed fixed an issue with a ruined hard drive that was preventing logins. Todays login problem was a different issue stemming from thier ongoing communications problems.
