uncomfortable and embarrassing

OK, this is a dumb question, especially because I used to know the answer, but I've been off grid for a loong loooooooooong time and just starting to look around again lately. But, uh, I've lost a pair of glasses INSIDE MY HEAD. (I guess I accidentally edited them to make them tiny and rotated, oh, sweet lag...) I know they're in there because I made a copy of them and stuck them on my pelvis and a bit stuck out my butt and I could retrieve them. (Glasses! Not a gerbil!)

Anyway, it's not the end of the world because I can just edit and fix the pair I pulled out of my ass, but isn't there a way to see inside your body, sort of? Or am I dreaming? I'm sure I do it by accident sometimes, but I can't seem to zoom in tight enough deliberately.

You can't zoom directly into your body, or at least I've never been able to, but if you stand on a posestand, focus the camera just next to yourself and zoom in on that spot, you can move the camera into yourself to find things inside. The trick is not to focus on yourself, but on something close to you, and then the camera will pass thorugh your body if you get the angle right.

*LOL*!! Sure you can. Just cam in there. There's NOTHING in there, nothing in the way (except your glasses). Good luck........just cam and when it looks like you can cam in anymore, just turn the camera in........I've never pulled anything out of my head, but I have certainly 'seen' in there with the camera. Big eyestalks you have, m'dear.....

Oooh ok. I'm sure you are right. I know I've cammed into my head before, just didn't realize there was a trick to it.

You might already know the answer to this, but to get the glasses out of your head, instead of making a copy and editing it, you can open inventory and type "worn" into search. That will give you a list of everything you are wearing or have attached. Find the glasses on that list and right click, then detach. They won't be stuck inside your head any more.

Of course, this doesn't fix them so they can be worn again. If she puts them back on now, they'll go back inside her head.

So, she'll have to wear them in a different spot - I suggest a foot - and then edit and move them away from the body. Then detach, and wear on the nose or wherever they usually go. Now at least they're outside the head and can be edited into their proper spot.

You could alter your shape so that it is shorter, thinner, and more diminutive and just save it as "lost my glasses." I have one that loses my belly and body fat a bit to find belly rings.

Thanks everybody! Wulfric, I knew I'd done that several times in the past, but it always just "happened," I didn't know how to do it deliberately, so thanks a bunch for explaining.

In fact, I managed to do it again a few minutes ago, again accidentally, and found them in there, somewhere between my creepy eyestalks and rosy tongue. I'd already fixed the bum ones, but I was happy to figure out how to find the other ones anyway.

Just 'unwear' them, rezz them in-world and edit them bigger.
Take back into inventory, then wear and edit to fit.

All sorts of ways to get at those glasses. Here's what I thought of first: stand on a pose stand, take any other prims off your head, Ctrl-3 to enter edit mode, hold down the mouse button and drag a rectangle around your head -- that will select the glasses.

I know you've already gotten your glasses. Just thought I'd add another solution:

You can also get to stuff inside your body by going into Wireframe mode via the Advanced tab.

For anyone who hasn't done this before--it's a pretty cool way to view our world once in a while.

Or, in the "advanced" menu, go to "rendering" and activate "hide selected" then, rightclick on your avatar, and since it is now selected, it will go invisible and you can see through to rightclick-edit on the glasses. (Just to throw in a totally different approach. )

Yup.....exactly what I was gonna say......go to edit....'detach objects'.....look for the glasses and detach them..........then go to inventory and 'attach to' a different part of the body......make sure to pull them waaaaay away from the body tho because when you attach to a new location.....their position wont be the same relative o your head where they were stuck....so moving them could potentially put them in your thigh or something LOL........move em a good 2-3 meters away so when you re-attach to the correct place....you have plenty of wiggle room for re-adjusting.

I just had to do this with a lip ring that I had lost in my head ages ago.....I wasn't wearing it....but when I tried it was 'gone'......So I attached it to my hand where I finally 'saw' it.....and moved it way the heck away from my body. LOL These things happen

I hope she remembered to clean the lenses before she put them on her face.
