I've not had too many experiences with them, though I have -- even in kid spacew. Recently there was one kid standing out in front of school, beggin' for Lindens even.
Worst case I recall waas the person who decided to hang out on Livingtree and shout at people about needing money. He saw me and immediately tried to harass me into dropping some Lindens onto him because he was broke. He kept it up after I told him no-and-please-stop-doing-that-here. He very quickly learned that the little kid had estate tools. _____________________

I'll have to be on the lookout for the beggers...but I did have an interesting experience my during my first month in SL. I had rented my first house on a sim with a real "neighborhood" look. In my freebie exploring I found a doorbell and thought it would be so cool to put it on the outside of the house. The next day, I was inside and the doorbell actually rang (which startled me a bit). I opened the door and this guy was standing there and rezzed an airplane and asked me if I wanted to buy it. (It was a real cheesy looking contraption as well). True to door-to-door salesmen, after saying "No, thank you" a couple of times which only resulted in him rezzing a few more of his "products", I basically had to close the door in his face. And after he left I deleted the doorbell.  LMAO!!! OMG Czari this is hilarious! Why, why, why do I never get to partake of any of this type of fun! Oh wait...if I can't get anyone to come to my door, then I'll start going door to door. Yes, this could be fun! I will pose as a Jehovah's Witness. Oh wait, they travel in pairs don't they? Anyone wanna tag along? _____________________

Our business is comparatively high-end, by SL terms, so we don't get a lot of people overtly begging (they'd get banned if they did). What we DO get is the other type of beggars, the ones that want something for free...
Here's the usual form it takes: 'Hi my name is xxx yyy and I represent Megaglom Corporation. We represent <insert name of RL celebrity here> who is looking for a presence in-world. Once they establish this they will bring all their celebrity friends in who will come and buy stuff from you. All we need are the builds that you have to rez in our sim so that we can publicize it." Of course they aren't willing to pay anything for it, in spite of the person being a RL star with many mansions. Some of them even had websites, claiming that this was the case. _____________________

My dad had gotten remarried and was annoyed with the Jehovah's Witness coming by because my step mother would by those Watch Towers. One day I was complaining about them coming to my house. He said how he got rid of his, was answering the door butt naked and invited them. They clutched on to their Watch Towers and scurried away. _____________________
