Classifieds not showing on main search

This is really weird - I placed a classified but couldn't find it, and thought no more about it thinking it might take a while to get uploaded. But I'm currently at a friend's store, and mentioned it to him. Here's what I did:

In the main search box (top right corner of screen) I typed in "Urban Trash" (the name of his store). It shows up as expected in the main search. But under the bit that says "Paid Classifieds" - nothing. In fact, it doesn't matter what I put in - "shirts" for example - there's NEVER anything under "Paid Classifieds".

If I go to the classfieds tab, yes it all works fine. Just not in the main search.

I *do* have "Include mature content" ticked - his land is mature, but the ad is PG. Anyway, that's a red herring - I'm sure by typing in "shirts" I should find at least one classified that isn't on mature land!

He tried it on his viewer - and they're showing up fine.

We both have the same version of the viewer - 1.22.11, so puzzled why we're getting different results.

I also have the RC viewer, and when PG is ticked his ad doesn't show up. If I tick Mature and re-search, it works.

Is this a common problem? If I'm the only person on SL who can't view classifieds, then it's not a problem. But if, say, half the people on SL can't view them, it's probably not worth my while paying for a classified.

Any suggestions?

It's a common problem. In the SL viewer, go to preferences, web and clear the browser cache. That should take care of the missing classifieds.

You're not the only person, and it's been like this for some while. I first noticed it in the current Release Candidate.

There is a JIRA about this: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12395. Please vote. And get your friends to vote.

No Linden appears to have noticed the JIRA.

The occurrence seems to be random. But if people aren't seeing your (and my) Classified even 10% of the time, then why are we paying for that service?

Whilst it may be fixed by clearing Cache, how many of your (potential) customers do this on a regular basis?

Celeron's store? He's one of my oldest friends in SL. :)
Very creative.
