From: Colette Meiji can you really even drive accross Europe in 5 hours?
And does it really take more than 5 hours to cross Illinois?
Ive gone from Detroit to Madison before it was about 7. That crosses Illinois. I've never driven across Illinois or Europe but I've seen maps of both places and Europe seems to be a bit bigger... From: Colette Meiji wow .. okay so it is like $10
Where does this 4000 making a living income come from?
$100 a month isn't a living Income in most of the world. AHA! But it is in SOME part of the world! From: Isablan Neva My guess would be the combination of SL residents, outside contractor companies employees (Electric Sheep, et al) and LL employees. All could be said to be making their living from SL... Good point. It would be good if they got the idea that more U.S. residents should have faster cheaper internet access. I've heard some other countries are making that more of a priority than we are here.

I believe there are 1400 education sims (colleges, etc). That's a lot of employess. And of course, there's ConductorX, Phil and Des! .

From: Chosen Few Also, I was pretty embarrassed at the insulting description of Europe by the "proud Republican" from Illinois. "I'm sick and tired of the US being compared to Europe. You can drive across Europe in 5 hours. I can't even drive across Illinois in 5 hours."
Don't worry - us over in Europe would be quite happy if US wasn't compared to Europe. For instance *we* like to try to elect politicians with a basic grasp of geography... Matthew

Matthew Plenty of Conservative MPs get elected, Matthew. Some of them think there be dragons where mainland Europe is.

Matthew Uh, you mean "we, over in Europe," not "us over in Europe," right? Our politicians may not know their geography, but some of our citizens do know our grammar. Anyway, you're right. Way too many of our politicians are - let's see, how can I put this politely- pathetically ignorant, imbecilic, completely underwhelming, suit stuffing. There are a few notable exceptions, but generally speaking, we've got one party full of fanatical fear-mongers and another full of wimps. Neither has been terribly well populated by actual leaders in quite some time. Most elections these days consist of five steps: Go into the booth, hold your breath, select the lesser of the available evils, push the button, hope and pray that Diebold decides not to push a button of their own to override your vote. Cynical, am I?

Nope, 'twas a colloquialism - but I probably missed an apostrophe, as it was technically a contraction of "most of us over in Europe..." Matthew

LOL I wonder if it really shows a lack of knowledge of geography from Education,
And more a lack of knowledge of Geography from atrophy ..
Since the Representative probably spends most of his time in Washington, In his District, or on Vacation.
I highly doubt he often crosses his home state in a car .. and the only time he'd go to Europe would be to hit a tourist hotspot.

Could be this guy thinks Europe is Great Britain. Many people seem to think England is the United Kingdom so maybe this is why he thinks Europe can be driven across in a few hours. Just for the few who are confused.... England is England Great Britain is England, Scotland and Wales The United Kingdom is Great Britain (England, Scotland, Wales) and Northern Ireland Europe is a bit bigger
