Ok - so in this thread - I followed advice, and went for the Snowglobe viewer
/327/75/344184/1.html#post2590177

I loaded up Snowglobe, separate folders, and then put it on. It runs a while but crashes out repeatedly with fatal errors. Performance got worse, and I decided it wasn't for me.

I've done everything I could think of to improve it the last few hours, and decided to go back to my old trusty Nicholaz Bleeding Edge viewer. I liked everything about it, and it wasn't Windlight. Windlight is pretty, and I was amazing but I'll leave it alone for now. Except, Nicholaz won't let me back in! I'm so upset. I just get the error code:

Entry Point Not Found - The procedure entry point ?AppendUTD16toUTF8@@YAXPBGAAVnsACString_internal@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library xul.dll

How can I get it back? I don't want to leave SL! :(

I'd give a try to following the instructions at Nicholaz's blog, which are at

http://nicholaz-beresford.blogspot.com/2008/05/release-bleeding-edge-be-w.html

which include the following:

From: someone

First make sure you have the expired Linden™ 1.18.5.3 (download link) installed.
http://s3.amazonaws.com/download-secondlife-com/Second_Life_1-18-5-3_Setup.exe

Then download nicholaz-BE-w.zip from my server
http://www.blueflash.cc/users/nicholaz/BleedingEdge/nicholaz-BE-z2.zip

and while the download runs, have a look at the installation instructions
http://www.blueflash.cc/users/nicholaz/BleedingEdge/!!Installation.txt

and the change log!
http://www.blueflash.cc/users/nicholaz//BleedingEdge/%21Changes.txt

After the download completes, follow the instructions and make sure the files go into the right folder!

The gist of the process is:

The Nicholaz viewer works by modifying a standard Linden Lab produced version of SL.

Each specific Nicholaz viewer requires a specific standard Linden Lab version of SL in order for the modifications to work properly.

Thus, to use a specific version of Nicholaz viewer, you must install the corresponding specific Linden Lab version of the Second Life viewer.

Installing a Nicholaz viewer into the wrong Linden Lab version of the Second Life viewer is guaranteed to fail in some way, such as the one you described.
