Apparently the CIA thinks Bin Laden is will soon be recruiting at the Welcome Area. I think this will add an interesting new fifth wheel to the usual Goreans / Goths / Furries / Bots dynamic.

"The CIA has already set up several virtual islands where training sessions and unclassified meetings are held. But the IARPA paper calls for more involvement, including tests by cyber warfare experts to gauge how virtual worlds could be used to against terrorists or enemies."

Hey if I was the CIA it would be my goal to have a 16 meter plot of land on every SIM so I could collate who's there, what they're saying etc.

Actually considering how those Wacky Fundamentalists are so wrapped up on Women and Sex all you have to do is keep sending naked female Avatars into their sims, loaded with shouting Xcite attachments. They'll be gone from the Metaverse in no time.

So how would you explain that the most popular areas for streetwalkers to do business in cities such as London tend to be those where the population tends to be more likely to be Fundamentalists?

We're not so sure. Just about every time El Reg has entered into Second Life, we've been greeted by system crashes, lags of 30 seconds or more and other evidence that would suggest the servers at Linden Labs aren't among the more robust operating around the globe. We have our doubts about just how effective those security measures could be.

So if Second Lifes "not so robust" servers can't handle monitoring avatars and their subversive activities...wouldn't that illude to the fact they can't even handle subversive activities?

or maybe...... I KNEW It!! The lag is an anti Govt plot carried out by a "fake" virtual world Company named Linden Labs and while supplying stellar service to the subversives..(wherever they may be  ) they provide the basic crap service to everyone else as a "front".

"Sneaky....Sneaky...Sneaky"

Brenda aren't these the same idiots who think if they blow themselves up, along with a lot of innocent woman and children, they'll have 50 virgins waiting for them in heaven? I'll endorse your idea and merrily go running, Sensations equipped and naked into any Sim there in, but only if I can also be equipped the most devastatingly destructive weapon known to SL! (written as humor but I'd do it in a heart beat!) :D

Because they aren't naked with shouting Xcite attachments.

Who the hell knows? The internet is a funny old place.

I'd be more inclined to assume it was PN. Saw lots of offensive names hanging around various nefarious places at the height of griefability in 2006, before the land controls came in.

Personally I'd rather have two or three that knew what they were doing, rather than 72 virgins that I spent the next 3 years teaching what to do...

You're a trainer of virgins then?

From the comments to the "theregister" article about spies, the CIA, and stuff in SL:-

Pssst. Here is the signal - if I have my shoe stuck up my butt after a teleport, the Jihad is on. If it is my hair stuck up my butt, wait for further signal.
I'm still laughing at that one.

From the looks of most of those cretins Tod67, I’d have to say they’ll have a lot more luck with the sheep!!! :p

God, I can't stop myself. But........the virgins are for sons, the sheep are for pleasure.

Best stick with the sheep Chris, they only say "Baaa-aa".

Personally, I don't care for sheep. What did you think I was from Australia?

/me ducks and runs from the forums before the Aussies wake up.

Lota you have pointed out one particular group but lets not forget about all the others. Here in the US we have plenty of wacky fundamentalists as well. To be honest I worry a lot more about our homegrown flag waving, bible thumping, holier-than-thou, fundamentalists than any threat from overseas.

I don't spend much time praying to any supreme being but when I do as always include this line "Dear Lord, please protect me from your followers."
