I haven't been able to edit my clothing for a while now (I go to Edit appearance and try to change around an article of clothing) but it would never change. Now i have a jacket on and its putting on a white layer on my legs and i'm not sure how do rid of it. i continuously play around with different key combinations so, that might be at fault.

Caboose welcome and I'm sorry to see your post slipped back a page, so many issues with the forums...what is happening to you is a glitch and there is a way to fix it, I'm sorry I don't know the answer but by bumping this post up I'm hoping that someone who does can tell you. It can be fixed, it never happened to me so I never had to learn how to do it.

Hopefully someone will help you soon :)

The forums are working well for me tonite so I went and found another post about it, with an answer :)

It is probably the palletised textures thing - at this point you'd be best off using the RC viewer as it has fixed that issue.

To test to see if that's it do ctrl+alt+F7 then rebake your avatar.

If it is you can use the ordinary viewer but hit ctrl+alt+F7 every time you log in, or just use the Release Candidate.

Osprey's suggestion is good. However, since you're new, Caboose, it may be worthwhile to mention that if you use the RC viewer you are using beta software which is not as stable or bug-free as the regular viewer. Don't be alarmed, nothing really bad will happen. Usually it's just a few more viewer crashes, at worst.

also being you are new, the ctrl alt F7 will not work unless you have the advanced menu open, to do that, press ctrl alt D (or in some cases ctrl alt shift D)

and the rebake is ctrl alt R

so first time around you will do

ctrl alt D
ctrl alt F7
ctrl alt R

any time after that, as long as the advanced menu is open you just need to do the last two.

hope that helps

They are taking away the forums... it could be worse, they could be taking away the forums AND Second Life...
