All Premium members potentially have at least 512m worth of land tier which they can donate to a group...more, if they've paid to increase it over the standard allotment. Donating decreases tier for the actual owner of the group holding the land in question, as well as giving a 10% bonus. E.g., If the members have donated 4096m total, the group can actually own 4505m without increasing anyone's tier.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Yes, I typically purchase land and then deed and donate it to the group. Today I tried to purchase a parcel directly for the group by clicking "Buy for Group" button, but it rejected the sale because I the group has "insufficient Land Use Credits" .. I then bought it and donated/deeded it without a problem.

The group already has a bunch of Land so I am failing to understand the term " Land Use Credit" and how it applies to property held by a group. Support Documents on this subject are useless

Did you have the correct group tag on? That's the only reason I can think of why it would give you that message if the group had sufficient tier donated.

Yes I did, I even checked that, but then again anything is possible

My concern is that the tier for the group gets paid one way or another. Do the the owners always pay the tier on the land that they donated, or is there a scenario where the group becomes soley liable for a tier payment..if so.. where does the money come from? a group per say can not have "payment info on file" status from what I can see, but the text and the warnings about Land Use Credits weird me out a little, making it sound as if there is a special Account to use for group liablities.

Rocket Science...

I've found this tricky, too. If I remember correctly, when you deed land to group, there's a checkbox for "Owner makes contribution with..." something-or-other, and then it will take the correct (bonus-discounted) amount of tier from the individual and move it to the group. But when you "Buy for group" I think you have to pre-donate enough tier (from the Group's "Land & L$s" tab) to cover the land being bought. Or something like that.

now it makes sense.. predonating it..

they should get rid of the manual feature..it serves no purpose

Thanks

This thread is great for explaining everything about land and in my experience Skye is more than great at answering questions and helping the clueless:

Thanks! This is very valuable...I need to swap some land around myself so this is most helpful not to incur extra tier for what you already own in actuality.

just as an aside, i have land that i created a group for and deeded it to the group, i also added myself, my alt and my girlfriend as owners of that group, does that mean the tier will be split up between us?? if so i better change that quicksmart

cheers

It will charge whoever has tier donated.
