I downloaded the Beta Grid just to see what it was like. Went in for a visit, looked around (not too much to see) and left. When I got back to the Main Grid, I found that a whole file of "play equipment" was missing from my inventory. I went back to the Beta grid and it showed up again...back to the Main grid and it was gone again. Really upset at loosing several thousand lindens worth of stuff I'd "paid for!" This was several weeks ago and it still hasn't shown up (cleared cache/logged off-on) didn't work. I won't go back to the Beta grid again (deleted the program)....visitor beware....what you come with may not go home with you......

Isn't this the same thing as what you wrote on another thread nearly a month ago?

After downloading the Beta grid, just to see what it was like, I went there, looked around and left. Shortly after I noticed a whole file of Play Equipment was missing from my Inventory when I was in the Main grid (good, paid-for stuff!). I searched every file to see if it was misplaced, cleared Cache, re-logged in...nowhere to be found. Decided to go back to the Beta grid just to check and WaLa..my missing file and all the equipment/toys was in my Inventory where it was supposed to be. Went back to the Main grid and it's missing again. I talked to a few SL "helpers," but they had no usable suggestions. Anyone had this happen to them and is there any way to get my inventory (sniff) back???

I really don't think the Beta grid has anything at all to do with the issue. They are seperate servers and seperate inventories, as was explained to you on that other thread.

What is created or picked up in the beta grid, stays in the beta grid. You can, however, take stuff from the main grid to the beta grid.

You're correct Robby....I did mention it in Residents Answers earlier. While I respect your opinion of what the cause is, I thought I'd see if perhaps someone in this thread had a second opinion....or third...or if someone had had it happen to them also. After months of having the file in place, to loose it immediately after going into Beta, seems too big a coincidence to dismiss lightly. Still hoping there's some chance of recovering my stuff....

Ummm Robbie's dead on. The Beta server takes a snapshot of your inventory as of a certain date. Anything you add to your inventory after that date will not be in the beta. Also, anything you remove from your inventory after that date, WILL be in the beta even though it is gone from the main grid.

Rather than blame the beta, perhaps you might want to consider that maybe it simply was lost from your inventory on the main grid; A common, well known, documented occurance. This has happened to many of us, and some of us have never been in the beta grid (me for one) EVER.
