Um, I think I may have missed something, and that may have been for the best. Sorry if this was all in the wrong thread. It stemmed from my wondering about what Mono might do for the llSetPrimitiveParams call, particularly with regard to setting sculpt maps.
Just to finish, the answer seems to be that on the beta grid, it makes little difference. Both churn happily away at .2 seconds. But at the same time, I found a way to trim the script a bit (essentially, I eliminated using SetPrimitiveParams for anything other than setting the sculptmap), and it is now running at about that speed on the main grid as well.

The scripts that get the big honkin' boosts from mono will be the ones that eat a lot of time doing stuff other than llCalls.. Correct, left that little contraction off the end
