For me, this started yesterday at around noon PST. Still hasn't changed, i did a uninstall/reinstall and got nothing.
When MG went down, i figured that Beta would be up shortly after MG came back up.. but nothing yet  _____________________

Well, the main grid has returned, but the beta grid is still offline for me. I suppose there were more issues than the asset server being offline, because the blog has announced that the transition is complete...

Just tried again for the heck of it, now im getting a new message:
'Login failed. Second Life is temporarily closed for maintenance. Logins are currently restricted to employees only. Check www.secondlife.com/status for updates.' Hopefully this means they didn't forget about beta and it will be up shortly! /me crosses fingers... _____________________

As of 1:39 PST, the beta grid still seems to be down. This is very odd, the BG's been down for almost 2 days and there's still no explanation from the Lindens. If they're updating the Beta viewer, I'd think they would have told us by now. >.>

Unfortunately this seems to be a repeat of.. (Last month?) when BG was down for a little over a week... hopefully it doesn't last that long and is back up tomorrow. Last time BG went down for a week, there was no updates from the lindens.. i even asked some that belong to the SL beta group, and didnt get any response, it was like they had forgotten about BG. Well hopefully it doesn't get as bad as it was 4-5 months ago (/310/a5/199042/1.html). The BG was admitting 1 or 2 people, but everyone else couldn't connect for practically 2 months. There are supposed to be updates about Beta Grid status on the blog, but the only time I've really ever seen BG status updates is about once in a blue moon when a new Beta Viewer gets released. It's like the Lindens are saying "We're sorry for ignoring you, here's a new toy to play with while you wait for the inevitable unannounced Beta Grid downtime you've all come to know and love". Shameful. |
