Wow, Satch, that's really slick. I think it's going to catch a lot of folks' imaginations. Good work.

An excellent production. It almost seems unreal - I mean like this would be something from some science fiction movie that didn't really exist. The classy narration helps, too.

Very impressive and professional. Makes SL look so attractive!
I've been shown the snapshots of the campus on several occasions and was duly impressed, but this made me want to pay a visit in a hurry. It's probably the "actors" moving and interacting in the movie that do wonders?

I'm running WinXP and was able to get it to play after I upgraded to QuickTime 7.1.

Before doing that, I was getting sound-only.

Anyway, nicely done!

Satchmo, thanks for this link..

wow.

i have tears in my eyes after viewing that.

i was thinking about what SL was like when i first joined over 2 years ago compared to what it has blossomed into today. while flourishing business is impressive in its own right, it's moments and projects like this that really puncuate what SL can do.

can that be distributed on YouTube? or is it groovy if i post it in my MySpace SL group?

it's just.. i remember envisioning wild futures for SL back in my "newbie days" and this SO exemplifies part of that vision.

i'm proud to be a part of this world and this project/video has further iluminated tht point for me.. as well as inspired me towards my own goals.

It is a great clip - not only for showing off what the NMC has done but to show people what is "the other side o SL" which makes it so much different from the usual MMORPG.

I blogged about it extensively and I am sending links to everyone interested in virtual worlds.:) The narration is classy. The soundtrack could use a little improvement. ;)

The New Media Consortium owns the video and its distribution rights. They are working on their larger distribution strategy. For now it's safe to link to the blog but not to post it on other video sharing sites.

very well done! It was refreshing to see the professional video editing work. I think it's the cuts that make the video feel professional. Oh and the framerate of the capture is good too!
