This seems like a good place to put together a registry of sail numbers, so that there is a list to consult when someone wants find an unused number. So that the list maintains itself, when you register your nuimber, include all the previous registrations. That way the last message in the thread will have the current list. So... here we go:

This seems like a good place to put together a registry of sail numbers. ...what a great idea!..obviously, since there're more than 100 skippers out there, the 67,600 unique IDs supported under the tako 3's number-letter system is better-suited to this task than the tako 2 two-digit ID - this just means that if someone really wants to reserve a particular numerical ID sans two-letter appellation, they'd best post to this thread while the getting's good...tako 2 skippers, this means you!.. Everyone should insert their ID into this registry in numerical order, for easier visual scanning. If your preferred sail number is already taken, that doesn't mean you can't use it during SLSF events: you'll only have to change to another unused number when sailing together with its registrant in the same event. Please, folks, append the list to the bottom of your post and insert your own sail number in its proper place! I don't want to be a heavy-handed moderator, but this thread will quickly degenerate if we don't stay on top of this.
It's been brought to my attention that presently Tako 3 letters don't register with SLSF start lines, only numbers. As this reduces sail letters primarily to vanity usage in any race, we should avoid registering more than one skipper for any given numerical ID. I was a terrible racer, although in RL I had a boat and did okay. That boat did not depend on bandwith, frame rate, etc. My boat is the very meaning of LIFE!
