As has already been announced in the Upcoming Events thread, the VYC will be hosting their second boat show in their home sim of Sanchon on May 20th, a Saturday. If you'd like the notecard invitation with the ever important pirate translation, feel free to IM me in-world for a copy.

Like most VYC events, we like to keep it flexible with the plans. This is why I can't offer anyone a definitive time or strategy for the boat show, but we didn't have this sort of information the last time around and things came out okay in the end. Fun was had by all.... most... well, no one complained. Much. There's always some grog at the Pirate Pub.

At the moment, setup is assumed to start at 6 pm SLT on May 20th. Voting is likely to begin about an hour afterward and will be open for the duration of the boat show. At about 6 pm SLT on May 23rd, voting will be closed, results calculated, and prizes rewarded. Then the next VYC race will commence immediately after, distracting anyone from any possible disappointments or rage at having lost the big prize.

The vote format isn't 100% settled, but it's likely to take the form of votes for the best three boats in no particular order per each category, with your vote only being counted if you name three. I keep saying their might be a jury panel for a separate prize, but I don't know really.

And, of course, all modified Tako 2 or 3 boats are welcome, slightly tweaked or beyond bizarre. While it's fun to see the boats sail around the sim, this is really more of a building exercise, and so might hold some interest for builders outside the sailing community. It's a good opportunity to bug your friends who don't know what your on about when you start talking sheet angles and spinnakers.

I'm looking to see who can outdo Myrrh on the plywood cube boat, personally.

Please, if you have any questions, ask away.
