Mutli-Verse Records is a first of it's kind in SL. Dedicated solely to advancement and promotion of independent artists and musicians, MVR is launching a marketing blitz and series of live events to raise awareness of the vast talent pool in residing in SL.
With 4 artists already signed to the label, MVR will continue to seek out talent, and help that talent to be heard.
With a listeners lounge where group members can set their own URL, and an open to the public listening center where artists not signed to MVR can post URL links to their streaming or .mp3 content, The Multi-Verse Records property in Roxy is quickly becoming a popular gathering place for SL musicians to meet, network and share their music with each other.
Unlike conventional RL corporate labels, MVR puts the music, not the profit, first. All MVR artists will enjoy benefits such as marketing support, distribution of material, covered show related expenses, a free to use unlimited listener streaming shoutcast server, image consultation and booking and management.
MVR will host a series of live events, and all MVR artists are available for booking for non-MVR related events by contacting MVR management.
Future plans include the launch of a 24/7 radio station playing only independent music by SL resident artists and the creation of a "Stadium Sim" where larger groups of residents can gather in one place to enjoy live music.
PR and Press inquiries can be directed to Erik Pasternak or Derek Tones in world.

1) Where's your website? 2) Where can artists submit their music? 3) What sorts of revenue avenues are possible for artists through this label? 4) Do artists retain creative control over their music, and is this a non-exclusive contract?

I own a small indie label irl and have been holding off on finding ways to use SL. Though I'm sure this can't be the first -- I think there was another one that beat you to it, but since I still haven't heard anything from them in a while I'm thinking that they might be over?
Anyway... best of luck to you and I can't wait to see what you do with this interesting opportunity.
Cheers.
PS: Image consultation?

~Talent "Are we cool enough?" ~Label "Here's how you could be cooler..." I think maybe that was the intent As for the Label itself. I wish it the best of luck. I might offer a little advice, though. Be sure to attempt a coordinated show utilizing several clubs on the grid to max out that stream. It'll take some communication and advertizing, but it'll be worth it to maximize your listeners of each show. Don't limit yourself to the sim limit of 40 laggy people... get 10 clubs to feature your talent, some malls, etc. so your audience is in the hundreds and not the teens. Also, don't be shy about selling tickets. I know it's passe here in Sl currently. But we can start adding inherent value to performances by charging for them! ~Lefty
