Heh-- look, y'all rated an extended mention in today's Wired.com:

http://www.wired.com/news/games/0,2101,59675,00.html

A large group of Word War II Online players had appeared during Second Life's beta and sequestered themselves behind the Jessie Wall in order to battle amongst each other. During the Iraq war, some of them began plastering the wall with pro-war posters. Pacifists quickly countered by covering them with anti-war signs. The vitriol escalated into violence.

Still, the World War II Online gamers' penchant for disruptive behavior aside, many at Linden Lab loved their invasion.

"They all came in to check us out. They took over ... about 16 acres and said, 'You come in here, we'll kill you,'" Rosedale said. "This one guy who built and sold guns had this little gun shop in the hinterlands.... And the WWII Onliners got on their little island, which happened to be next to this guy's gun shop. In one week, he made $100,000 (in game currency) selling guns to these guys. That was just the coolest thing."

Yep. Definitely cool :-)

On the oter hand, in my experience, there are very few cool things that don't require a tissue, mop, or possible medical care afterward. ;-)

Life (1st or 2nd) is messy :-)

Saw that earlier on our forums, very cool.

btw it seems that even 2 months after any kind of trouble with us some "respected" residents decided it would be fun to grief me in a safe zone mainly cause I'm a wwIIoler.

btw the wwIIol gallery is as complete now as its gonna get.

I finished the actual structure except for 8 very expensive windows I wasnt able to finish.

I was not able to put in all the pictures I had planned, infact the largest room in the place is empty, and I was not able to add in the signs explaning each room.

I also had plans for a lounge area but thats not happening either.

Taxes have peaked at over $9000 and I'm now out of money,so the place will be up till friday or sometime this weekend so i dont get hit with next weeks taxes.

Anyone who wants to look around do so this week.

Its sad I've got to take it down,I spent 3 months on it,it has around 4500 or so prims in it,it takes up somwhere around 60% of the object limit in jessie,I'm glad i was able to build it though.

I have it saved in my inventory in a few dozen parts though,so if ever I am able to afford it I will bring it back.

Man,I've got many ideas for buildings but monsy is such a limiting factor.

I love architectural detail, but that is extremely expensive in secondlife so its just not possible for me to build the stuff I really would like :-(
