secret sims

Are there secret sims? I have heard a rumor about Liason sims and a place called Devel.

Yes there are. But you can't get to them.

Does anyone have a clue what they are used for?

Thanks I would kill to know what the Lindens do in these sims.

They eat small children.

Yes, James Miller made it into those sims on quite a few occasions. He's unstoppable.

James will most likely earn a listing in the SL Historical Society's list of firsts.

I read the post and he said he couldnt get into them anymore. I also thought there were three prelude islands depending on the volume of new subscribers.

I do that at Stage 4, on Thursdays...

Well, in 'Devel'... They test things. It's a DEVELopment area.

Two other 'secret sims' are the welcome islands.

It's not my map, I think Ezhar Fairlight made it =D

Fairly simple, non-uber-secretive things Lindens can use secret islands for:

- to be online and not be shown in game, so that they can take care of work without being sent a jillion IMs
- to build objects and sims before they are released into the world
- to try out new features, error test new versions of SL, diagnose problems reported by SL residents without risking crashing the live servers
- to meet with one another in a private setting
- sims that have not been terraformed yet that will soon be live

They probably are hard coded so only last names of Linden can enter the sims and see them on the map. Not that hard to do, I find it unlikely that people would find them.

Actually, Lindens can be online and invisible. A private sim just makes them inaccessible as well.

So then, what you are saying is that the Lindens do not eat small children??

It is kind of funny

there is this set up to look like a mario game, with those green tubes, and its built so you can go through it and its incased so you dont fall

then there was a maze of green hedge bushes. There were a few other random things but both those were pretty good size it was kind of funny to be there and have these serious things. I cant remember how I got there. I think I teleported to a linden and I was like WHOA.


--- I think its a place for them to just "play" too , because I highly doubt ethier of these structures have to do with anything.
