Clementia. Ya can't miss it.

I mean, it was a great build... a year ago. Maybe Steller/Lordfly could rebuild it in full 1.2 glory? Hell, I'll rebuild it!

Darwin, I would help if you want. If you wanted to do a makeover instead of a restore, I would be glad to donate furniture, plants whatever you needed.

Great idea!

I completely agree; I asked the Lindens to restore the mansion months ago.

/invalid_link.html

In that thread, it was suggested that the mansion be used to host a museum of SL history, which I think would be a great idea.

How/why did it fall into its current state? Last time I was there was months ago. What happened to the place?

When 1.2 arrived, a lot of stuff was deleted, presumably intentionally by the Lindens; many interior furnishings and the entire basement vanished, making the mansion a much plainer build. When 1.4 arrived, more stuff was missing, but this time it appears to have been unintentional; now there are gaping holes in the floor, etc.

I could help with the structural parts, if it could be pointed out to me what's missing.

Perhaps.. a hidious crime happened there.. and now..all that occupies the dwelling... are lost souls... waiting.. waiting...
Perhaps.. the Lindens have fear of the unknown as they enter the grounds... someone has disappeared... unheard from since their encounter...
Perhaps... all will be apparent... come Hollow night...when the full moon rises...
Perhaps.. all that has a curious mind... beware.... if you dare.

I agree that it should be restored and made into a Second Life Museum. Possibly housing the objects and pictures from the time capsule and have a little timeline of events and stuff. Probably Hamlet would be the best for coordinating the timeline of events and some key moments by using stuff he's covered in New World Notes.

That's what I crashed into? Jeez, I thought I'd bounced off the parcel or something. I'm in for helping rebuild it, that thing is a hazard to navigation.

Bump.

Recently I talked to Nova Linden, who was deleting some barbed-wire fencing that someone had put up in front of the Governor's Mansion. She said that if we want the mansion restored, we should send a message to support@secondlife.com.

Might as well send it to kgb@kremvax.su or george.bush@whitehouse.gov for the same level of consideration.

Yes, this post is defamatory of LL 2004 in case that was not clear.

Does anyone one know when this will start? I've joined the restoration group but I have not received any information on when the restoration will begin.

I think this is a great and neccessary idea. We must perserve even our "digital" historical sites! Don't think I can really be of any help at the moment but, I volunteer my animating services to the project, say, custom stances and poses that can somehow be used, like maybe some customs for a curator showing people around or something like that, who knows. Feel free to contact me if you guys have any ideas.

Hey if the Lindens won't help much, hit the "F-IT" key, and we'll do it ourselves!!!

Great post, I'd love to see this come full circle to completion! :D
