Try turning up your disk cache size in preferences. I have two of those Macs (home and office) and now I seldom crash. I set mine at 1000MB.

black screen log in solution
12-22-2008 00:56
I wasn't able to log in to SL with my Mac (10.5.5) for several months and was already thinking I will have to sell my land and stop playing. Now I've discovered that what I should do, when I get the black log in screen, is quit the program and not wait for the actual log in picture to appear, that will just freeze the computer. Then I click & quit SL again and again until I get the right log in screen, it should only take a few seconds for it to appear.
I hope this helps someone!

Same problems
01-19-2009 11:29
I just downloading the newest second life release canadate and it work better on my mac, but I still crash and burn every 15 minutes. I have a relatively new macbook pro and I don't know what else to do. It's really frustrating... I know this thread is older, but did anyone find a solution yet?
thank you
