Also, it should be sold for a fair price.

Is it possible to build such a large low-prim moving yacht without drastically affecting the yachts appearance and functionality?

I'd like a large low-prim commercial yacht with a full-service kitchen and dining area and entertainment services on board that can carry at least 100 avatars comfortably and is able to move. This yacht should also have a fully functional pilot house with keyboard/mouse controls that are easy enough even for a novice captain. The yacht should have a realistic engine sound, a horn and other sounds. The yacht should be customizable and can also be given a name and be christened.
Also, it should be sold for a fair price. ![]() Is it possible to build such a large low-prim moving yacht without drastically affecting the yachts appearance and functionality? Please look here for more information. ![]() |

I just learned about sculpty prims (drastically cuts down on prim count) and that may make this sound more reasonable.

Your problem won't be the prim count on the yacht, it will be the population.
You do realise that sim limits are far less than 100 people, right? The Average mainland sim has a limit around 40 people. I'm told that the class 5 servers can hit 60, however at 60 people, you can expect to see so much lag that the boat will barely move if at all (to experience this for yourself, go to Bare Rose during one of their scavenger hunts). Also, as the vehicle moves, the sim has to recalculate the position of each Avatar passenger and move them to maintain their position in relation to the vehicle. So each passenger compounds the lag problem as the vehicle moves. My partner has an Aubretec Osprey. It's capable of holding 8+ people. Just the 2 of us, the lag isn't noticeable. 4 people and it is definately noticeable. My partner has never tried to load it to capacity. You might want to think about scaling down your idea, especially if you want it to move. |
