I am such a dork for being behind on this, and I apologize for being so busy ... but I'm listening to SecondCast now and I'm really enjoying it.

Wanted to plug this because I think it's quality discussion about SL and it's interesting topics, and it's fun to hear some people that I've only IMd. :D

If you have iTunes installed, it should just automatically add it to your podcast subscriptions.

How to listen:

I have an FAQ posted here. Remember, podcasts are not confined to iPods and iTunes!!

How to participate:

If you want to be on Secondcast, email me your SL name, what topic you want to discuss, etc. Email your feedback and requests to be on Secondcast.

You can also phone in or email an mp3 shout out that will get broadcast on the next show. Shows are recorded Wednesday nights and are released by the following Monday. See the website for phone numbers.

About Secondcast:

I created Secondcast so there would be a medium of news and discussion that does not compete with Residents' computer time. People can listen on the computers but they can also burn CDs of the episodes or use their portable MP3 players.

I also saw a huge benefit in something with International appeal because its syndicated for any-time listening. In fact, Kermit Quirk is a prime example of someone that tunes in regularly to our show ... because he feels disconnected from those of us in the U.S. being 15 hours ahead of EST.


Thanks to everyone listening, participating, and calling in those shout outs! Your support on this project is greatly appreciated.

Questions can be [email=johnny@secondcast.com]emailed[/email], called in, or recorded as mp3 and [email=shoutouts@secondcast.com]sent in[/email] -- in addition to participating in the forums.

I will post upcoming guests on the secondcast.com home page and registered users are welcome to post comments there as well.

Starting with episode 10, we will be able to bring up to 25 simultaneous residents into conference at the same time. This will add huge flexibility in getting more voices heard.

It's been a technical limitation from the start. I could have settled for a lower quality broadcast to have more people on the air, but I decided to hold out for the best sound quality.

I have finally gotten the best of both worlds setup now and can't wait to start using it Wednesday!
