Well Mulch, the truth is we don't. I know alot of us would vouch for RR at the drop of a hat.

There are some things that LL would know, that we don't. (ie) Texture upload. The texture was probably uploaded and would have originated at an IP address. LL can track the IP of the login. Likewise they can monitor transactions between avatars. It is possible this happened and it incriminated him.

Yet again, LL may be going off half-cocked, but it seems unlikely they would ban a person simply because his name appeared on a script. They are smarter than that.

Something is definitely rotten in the state of Denmark.

Hang in there RR, (despite my devil's advocacy) it is my hope, this will be investigated fully and you will be vindicated.

Umm is there any other proof other than this Something Awful forum post? Do you know how quickly I could photoshop something like this up? You know how trustworthy this SA peeps are.

RR tp'd be to the location right after it started, so I wasn't there when it started but I was hanging out with him as the replication got really bad. I highly doubt he was involved in any way other than helping the Lindens identify the problem areas. Ridiculous accusations...

Can someone give me something better than that photoshopped up image?

maybe Adam made that post to give RR a false sense of security to try to bait him to make another attack and catch him in the act, but I seriously doubt a Linden would put their name on the line like that in order to entrap a resident

I stand by my initial thesis, RR is innocent and has somehow been framed!

I do know the truth, I would stake my sim, my sl account on it.. and I tell you.,. it took me 2 years of hard work to achieve what i have achieved.

I would NEVER give anyone full rein of my sim and my trusted name if I ever had a glimmer of doubt. And my long time friends in here, whom i know out of SL would back this and my judge of someones character.

I have known Rick for almost 2 years. We have become closer in SL. I have completly trust in him and hold the highest respect for this man

Oy vey. I knew something was up when I started to get random IM's in world a little while ago. I was just told about this thread.

I am very appreciative of the support everyone has shown for me in this thread but really it isn't necessary. I never assumed they were trying to frame me for writing the script nor did anyone I spoke with when I discovered the article this morning.

I did not write any script. Anyone who knows me knows I CANNOT write any script. Sure, being in Live Help I have given out the freebie scripts that I have collected, but from what I understand you can simply rename a script to anything just like an object.

For the record I did not take those pics. I was sitting in my loft on a private island when the calls started coming into Live Help. Taco Rubio sent me the photos and gave me permission to use them and have them used elsewhere if need be. After the attack was well underway I teleported to the mainland to see the balls and then got an IM from someone who TP'ed to me to see them as well and then we both got stuck on the sim border.

I have no idea why they would use my name as I don't think I knowingly had any contact with people associated with those groups. I certainly have never abuse reported anyone nor am I "responsible" for anyone getting banned. Maybe they just wanted someone to pick on and I was an easy target. *shrug*

As announced today by Gunsu Linden, LL will be prosecuting those responsible and while they are being fined or sent to jail, all the rest of us will still be here enjoying everything Second Life has to offer.

They targetted you, likely because of your good standing.

Griefer tactics , obviously somebody got a hold of one of your scripts and changed the body to implicate you. I don't know how many scripts you have created and distributed, but, if it's not alot...... then perhaps you have a paper trail to the perps and/or their alts.

The script is named after him, but nothing in that capture indicates it was created or owned[/i] by him.

I can name my next shirt Weedy, but it doesn't mean you made it.

Just so I can say I said it, everyone is aware that the title of a script does not have any bearing whatsoever on whoever may have written it, right? I mean, everyone does know that the script viewer window has no field for creator, right? All that can be seen in that picture is a script NAMED "ReallRick Metropolitan". No information about who wrote it is present at all. I doubt this was even an attempt to frame RR. It appears that whoever wrote it simply thought it would be amusing to name the script after him for some reason.

I find it absolutely amazing that anyone actually thought RR's name in the title bar meant he was the author. Seriously folks, we all look at that viewer window every day, right? Anyone ever seen it display an author's name? I sure haven't. The only way to see who created a script is to right click on it and go to properties, which obviously we can't do with that web image. Even if we could, as has already been mentioned, anyone can change the text of a script and it won't change the creator tag, so just because someone's name might be on a thing, doesn't mean that that person actually wrote it.


Now that the painfully obvious is out of the way, I would be shocked if RR had anything to do with the attack. He'd have to be a calculating diabolical genius with the patience of a glacier to have acted so friendly for so long just so he could gear up some master plan to suprise everyone with a few spheres. Believing he would do this is almost as silly as believing title means author.

I suspect that the person who just posted as ReallyRick wasn't really Rick. I think he's probably being held somewhere against his will. I still think he needs saving. I know these things because I have contacts. I used to have glasses but they made me look funny.
